I paid $245 for a youth rec basketball program and the business has not fulfilled the promises they made about the basketball program. They claim that they have the best trained coaches and that the program in noncompetitive rec basketball that focuses on skill development. The basketball games are chaotic and neither the refs or the coaches follow the rules the organization has established to keep kids developing their skills. They promise: The Flash League is recreational or non-competitive by design and is offered for boys and girls K through 4th Grade.Above all, we provide and require the most comprehensive training for volunteer coaches so that key development objectives are met for each player. In reality, coaches and refs stand by while teams with older more skilled players demolish younger less skilled teams. Going completely against their claims of focusing on skill development and having well trained coaches. Most teams are ten or more players and there are six 5-minute periods in each game. When a team is larger than ten players, even when the coach subs five new players in every period one or two kids only get a few minutes of playing time. The league has rules designed to give players the space and time to develop their skills and they claim to be noncompetitive but these rules are ignored by both coaches and referees. The referees don't even call out of bounds, Kids are given different colored wrist bands that match up with the wrist bands given to the other team. Kids are supposed to guard the kids that has the same color wrist band. Kids are not supposed to steal the ball from other players as they move the ball downcourt by passing or dribbling. This makes it possible for kids to play the game and practice these skills. But neither coaches nor referees enforce those rules so games are chaotic. They charge $245 for an 8 games and for that amount of money they should deliver on what they promised. I have shared my complaint with them.

The business has not resolved the situation and is now not even providing the basic equipment for kids to play basketball. Practices have been changed to an alternate location for our last two sessions and kids have to bring their own basketballs. The business sent out this e-mail to all of the parents: Flash League,
Hope everyone is having a great season so far.  It has been great to see all our players improve from week to week!
In an effort to focus on the development of all players, we are implementing the following rules for Boys 1st, Boys 2nd, and Girls 1/2nd Grade Divisions for the rest of the season:
No stealing off the dribble.  Only off the pass
Stricter reinforcement of man-to-man defense (matching wristbands)
Boys 3/4th and Girls 3/4th will be allowed to steal off the dribble and off the pass unless agreed otherwise between opposing coaches pre-game with the referees.  Same man-to-man defense only (matching wristbands)
We understand that there are players and coaches who are eager to play 'real' basketball.  I think we can all agree that there is plenty of time for them to do that throughout their basketball careers.  What's most important now--especially in a rec league is for all players to have an opportunity to grow in the sport without the games always revolving around players who are the most aggressive at stealing the ball or the best at dribbling.
For those who are ready for the next level, we invite you to check out Flash's Competitive Basketball program for 3rd-High ****** Boys and Girls this Spring/Summer.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

They did not respond to my e-mail and did not provide a refund even though they are not delivering the service they advertise on their website. In fact they are doing even less than they were before because now they aren't even providing basketballs for the kids to practice with.
