      This company took advantage of me. I told them I was a single mom coming in for new brake pads and asked if they could make sure everything else was good to go. Within 5 minutes of looking at the car they told me there were major problems. They told me I had a blown gasket possible cracked block. That I also had oil in my radiator fluid, and the car was on its last leg. They continued to share with me the cost of repair being $5,000 to $7000. They also mentioned trade-in for one of their newer cars. When I asked them to send me an email of the estimates and all the work that needs done they said they would but didnt. When I called to get the quote they gave me the runaround and told me that the engine needed replaced and that would cost $7000. They set me up with a salesman to get me to buy a new car from them. Once I told them I still owed ****** on the car they were no longer interested in helping me. They told me the negative equity was bad and they couldnt help. After paying almost $400 for brakes to be replaced, I took my car and went home. Within 24 hours my car started smoking and Radiator fluid was everywhere. I took the car in for a second opinion. This next auto mechanic took one look at my radiator hose and said it was sliced by a razor blade. It was perfectly sliced, and there was no wear on the radiator hose other than the slice. There was also oil intentionally put in under the cap of my radiator to make it look like there was oil my radiator. Konkin was the only auto shop to work on my car and there were no problems whatsoever so ever before going to them except my brakes needing replaced.

      Since the complaint was filed, Konkin Auto Group launched an internal investigation to determine the cause of the claimed damage. The security camera footage that captured the entire service visit of the vehicle in question was reviewed in detail.

      After the footage was reviewed, it was concluded that the claimed damage to the hose could not have been caused by Konkin Auto Group personnel because the hose is located under a plastic cover and is inaccessible without the removal of the plastic cover. 

      The security footage shows that the plastic cover was never removed therefore Konkin Auto Group personnel had no access to the hose in question to cause the damage shown in the image provided by the customer.

      ********************** has since contacted the customer and explained the findings of the investigation.

      At this point Konkin Auto Group is requesting the customer and ******************** to close this complaint as it is not applicable to Konkin Auto Group.
