On or around May 19, 2025, I was advised that I had to pay my deposition fee upfront of $803. I was then told that I had to pay 297 for a court reporter cancellation, then $200 for a rush reschedule. I was told the first hour transcription was included equating to about ****** pages. Thereafter, I received an extra nominal bill of over $3100. The company failed to credit the first hour transcription as promised, and attempted to charge me over $***** per page instead of the 4.95, and 0.75 cents for the copy. the companying is attempting to charge me over $6 for copying fees, which is a violation of the ** law. The **** stated she doesn't know why I'm being charged over ***** per page. Its attempting to double charge me and is refusing to correct the bill. I was misled. The co. made false misrepresentations to get me to engage their services. I would've gone somewhere else. I asked what would be my charges be upfront. After being told 75 cents per page for copying, I said' okay.' I was told I paid for the deposition transcript upfront. The company is colluding with the adverse party, has unlawfully raised the cost of the transcript to inhibit my ability from securing pertinent, germane evidence to the case. It has made fraudulent misrepresentations as to the cost of the transcript, and that the first hour would be deducted, as it was paid upfront. The company is attempting to charge me for 300 pages at over $***** per page and failing to credit me the 75 pages that was paid up front. It is charging me for 2 copies at the same fee for the original: rather than at a copying fee price. ********, Manager is being very disrespectful, and unprofessional by not answering questions, correcting bill, then telling staff to block the consumer number; after the consumer uncovered and made it aware of its fraud. The court reporting company: in essence is engaging in deceptive business practices. I never agreed to pay that. I never signed anything.Business Response

Dear Ms. ********* We take all client concerns seriously and strive to provide clear communication and professional service. However, your claims misrepresent both our obligations and the circumstances surrounding your complaint.
Audio Recordings Are Not Provided
As we have explained multiple times, court reporting firms are not required to provide audio recordings. Per New Jersey law:
While digital recording of court proceedings is common, court reporters are not mandated to provide audio recordings. The official record is the transcript prepared by the court reporter, and electronic recordings are not admissible as evidence.
The transcript serves as the official record, and we are unable to provide audio recordings, regardless of the request.
Communication and Professionalism
We value professional and productive communication. Unfortunately, due to repeated disruptive behavior, including raised voices and abruptly ending calls, we made the decision to limit communication to email.Additionally, due to the high volume of emails27 emails in a single dayyour correspondence was redirected to a single point of contact to ensure efficiency.

Naegeli is a national independent court reporting firm that has been in business for over 45 years. Our Terms and Conditions will hold up in any court of law. If we practiced illegal billing practices, we would not be in business for over 45 years. The pricing that you are referencing is from ************ and applies to court reporters within the courts, and not independent firms such as ours.Initial Complaint

Transcriber provided an inaccurate transcription from the audio I provided. They stated there were too many people talking to decipher who was speaking but if you review the audio right at the beginning (0:12) The person speaking (******* *****) stated the proof would be if you felt that the car was bad. The transcript states, (******* *****) look, the problem is that the truck.. This is one example of many errors I identified in which I was unable to use the sealed transcript in court because of the inaccuracy of the email transcript they provided. I would like my money back since they did not keep their deadline to deliver the sealed envelope on 11/1/24 which was delivered the day of my court appearance (11/6/24) and the transcript that did not accurately capture my conversation which made it worthless for my defense. The audio cannot be uploaded for some reason I can also email it possibly to you. Its size is 3.3 Mbs but Im sure the company has it as well.Business Response

Hello, *** ******,
Since you represented yourself in this case instead of having an attorney, we do understand that it can be confusing as to why we are unable to add additional testimony to a transcript. We maintain a legal obligation to provide a verbatim record, and any alteration to the content of the original recording would have constituted an unethical change to the testimony.
Our review of the provided audio, along with the delivery details, confirms that we did provide a copy of the electronic transcript by the agreed due date.
We will always work with you to address any concerns you may have about a transcription, within the boundaries of ethical and legal standards.Initial Complaint

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We take your concerns very seriously and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.
