I took my car to MBI Motors for a D service and to check my power steering. They provided that B service and told me that it was the same as a D service. When I asked why the receipt says D service instead of D the told me the services were all the same. after picking up my vehicle I drove it home. Next day I got in my car drove for a little while and a malfunction light came on a vehicle rising notification came on but the car was still at height I was able to drive it home, The next day Vehicle rising notification came on and it turned red and told me to stop at the vehicle was rising..My car was pancaked in the rear . Car was sitting on the back tires . the vehicle never rose and so I couldnt drive my vehicle so I took it back to the repair shop. I had it towed back. when I spoke to the service personnel that worked on my vehicle he began to tell me that its not if my airbags will go out in the back but its when they will go out and I told him that I usually have my car serviced at ************************* and so they keep a detailed print of what is wrong with the vehicle and Ive never had an airbag or a ride issue until I brought my car to your shop. He began to tell me that the problem with my car was that it had aftermarket fuses and corrosion in the fuse box. I asked him to give me a print out let me know which fuses needed attention so that I could take it back to ************************* and he basically told me that he could just show me but he couldnt print anything out then we went back-and-forth about the condition my car was when I brought it in in the condition it was when I took it from the shop Theres a print out the list all the issues of a wrong with the vehicle when I brought it in the air bags for my shocks and my ride control werent listed as an issue so Ive talked to these people Ive taken my car back there twice and I just want them to fix my car and get it back to the condition it was when brought the car in.

    Response for complaint ID ********

The client dropped off the vehicle for us to check the power steering and perform the * (D) service.  We performed the service and diagnosed a leaking power steering rack and a leaking/weak power steering pump.  The vehicle came in without an Airmatic malfunction and it left without an Airmatic malfunction.  The client called shortly after picking up the vehicle stating the Airmatic Malfunction light is on and the rear suspension is sagging.  The vehicle came back in on a tow truck with the Airmatic Malfunction Light on and the rear suspension sagging.  We tested the circuit and found no power to the suspension air pump.  The function of the air suspension pump is to inflate the rear suspension air springs.  We found corrosion on the fuse for the air suspension pump.  That fuse is located in the front fuse box under the hood.  We also noticed that it had been worked on before, as there were newer fuses and newer relays in that fuse box.  We replaced the fuse for the air suspension pump and cleaned up the corrosion in the fuse box where the fuse spades plug into the box.

The repair made the suspension air pump operate, the rear airbags inflated and the vehicle leveled back out.  Even though this corrosion issue and repair was not related to our service work or diagnosis from the previous visit, M*I did not charge the client for their return visit.

This is where I remember we left it.  The client came late in the day and picked up the car.  I haven't heard anything from them since.  We feel like we have gone beyond our responsibility by finding corrosion in the fuse box, repairing it and doing this for no charge to the client.

If the client is having additional air suspension problems, it is not related to anything that was done at our shop.  Any vehicle equipped with aging air suspension components is subject to wear and tear problems.  This vehicle is 16 years old with over ******* miles on it.  The air suspension is one of the most problematic systems on any ******** vehicle equipped with this style of suspension.

M*I Motors has been in the business of repairing ******** *enz vehicles for more than 50 years and we have a very large customer base of satisfied clients that keep bringing their vehicles back to us due to our high level of repairs and reputation of being up front and honest.  We aren't always perfect and sometimes situations arise that need extra effort to make things right.  We feel like we extended goodwill to this situation to repair a problem that was caused by corrosion and not anything that we were responsible for.  If there are problems with the Airmatic system due to aging rubber, aging seals or worn out electrical components, they need to be diagnosed and identified.  The client has mentioned a relationship with *************************.  Perhaps returning to ************************* would be a good option, as *** has not been able to satisfy this client's expectations.
