      We have a Genie garage door that spontaneously opened overnight on July 5th. We called the help line listed on our garage and were connected to a third party company (unknown to us) who referred us to a representative from Metro Access Garage. The technician from Metro Garage said he was in the area in ********* and could come by and take a look but he didn't think he could fix the problem. We were never told by the 3rd party answering service or Metro Access we would be billed a 2 hour minimum at weekend rates totaling a $512 bill. Given the garage door was still functioning, we would have never agreed to pay this significant upcharge had we known we were going to be charged ~3x the amount of normal service and we were told it was unlikely to have an answer. The serviceman came out for about 30 minutes and took a look but as he expected, wasn't explainable. We did not sign any paperwork at that time regarding the billing, he just left. Despite the work detailed on the invoice the garage was still functioning before the service and he said he didn't think this was the cause. We weren't sure we would even be billed at all. We have now called the company at least 3 times with promises to speak to a manager or accountant but have not heard back. They keep sending bills to our house. I would be willing to pay the normal rate for a service person but it is unethical and deceptive to charge a customer 3x the normal amount without disclosing that first. Thank you.
