I had an inappropriate exchange with this business as someone who is considered a neighbor and community member where this business lives. As my partner and I were loading our children to head to the airport an employee came out and harassed us. They asked us questions about our personal selves, I felt very unsafe and threatened as this large man with muscles approached us. An employee (same man) came out and told us what we were and weren't allowed to do. My partner was finishing a cigarette and was rudely met with "you can't smoke out here." Mind you we were on the street loading a car full of children. When I asked the employee if they had any marketing or signage that states if certain actions can be done in front of their establishment they said no but proceeded to share that it is an indoor building policy. The gentleman said that its our building policy that you cannot smoke outside. Typically establishments have signs that state no smoking in front or 20 feet, they did not have that sign. I followed up with the establishment to provide feedback and was met with judgement and threats. The employee that was taking my concern said they were going to call *** (child services) because they didn't like my feedback. I am a community member and don't deserve to feel unsafe next to an establishment that is flexing intimidation. I need this business to adhere to business law, and not confront patrons in front of their business without probable cause. I would like for the business to share their building policies with me, as well as provide signage for those who try to smoke near their establishment. I also think this business should be mandated to take a conflict management training. I want to submit a restraining order on *** ****, the person who violated our safety but am willing to not do that if the business can adhere to appropriate business law and provide signage.

Sorry to hear about your interaction.
the area you were speaking to *** at was right next to several no smoking signs.
unfortunately he failed to realize that.

He was asked to speak with you because several of our members were concerned about the children being exposed to second hand smoke in front of our buisness. And asked him to go say something.
it not our intent to harass or intimidate anyone and we apologize if you felt that way.
if you felt threatened by his appearance Im not sure what youd like him to do about that.
I will definitely have a conversation reiterating our desire to treat people with respect regardless of the situation.
