    On July 15, 2022 I placed a call to Climate Control and requested a repair on the air conditioner at one of my rentals. The repair was scheduled for July 29, two weeks later. The repairman told me that the dual capacitor was bad and the cost to replace would be $282, he then proceeded to tell me the total cost would be $492. The extra $210 is called a service fee. That sounded like a lot for a capacitor, which I know are not very expensive. I approved the repair. I was over a barrel, my tenant was without air conditioning for two weeks when the weather was very hot. I later learned that A dual capacitor is simple to diagnose because either the fan of condenser are not running. According to ***** and Home Advisor the average cost to replace a dual capacitor is $170 and takes less than a half hour. The very top should be $300. I called Climate Control to question the cost. I was told its primarily a matter of cost to do business and their prices are inline with the market. Needless to say Im not pleased to pay so much for a simple repair.

When you called in to schedule your appointment you were quoted the Diagnostic fee of $210.00 to come to your rental home and diagnose why the air conditioner wasn't functioning.This fee is to cover the testing we do on your system whether that takes 1 hour or several hours. This diagnostic fee also includes pricing for being licensed & bonded, having reliable company vehicles to visit your home, tools needed to properly work on your systems, continued training for our technicians to have knowledge to repair your systems, and much more.As for the price of the part, you are paying for a qualified technician to install it and a warranty. For any reason if that part is defective from factory it would be replaced on us with no charge to you.You have paid for a qualified company to repair your system. If you call our competitors you will see our pricing is very similar to theirs and we stand by what was quoted and charged.We hope that prices will go down soon but unfortunately, inflation is out of our control. To help prevent repairs like this we highly recommend yearly maintenance on the system to make sure your system isn't working harder than it needs to. Its noted that you declined our maintenance proposal but if you change your mind we would be happy to help.
