  Literally applied and my mother-in-law passed the very next day! Medcure was very prompt and her body was picked up within an hour of ** calling Medcure. We truly appreciate how fast they responded. As for the funeral home that picked up her body, yes, I agree that they should forewarn family members when they plan on putting the body in the bag as that was very traumatic for us as well. HOWEVER, I am not 100% sure whether it was Medcure, a local funeral home company, or a transportation type company that did the transport. Either way, she was an organ donor and so I believe she would have truly wanted this so her son being legally authorized, we signed her up last minute and things went incredibly smoothly so far!

  Would do Zero stars if applicable- My parents both signed up for Medcure over 10 years ago in ******. Fast forward- my beloved mom recently passed away. When we called Medcure we had to answer so many questions and had to wait 3 hours for mom to be picked up. Medcure said they needed paperwork to be filled out ASAP- they emailed to my father and he had to email it to me since he is not tech savvy. 1 day later I received a call from them reminding me that they need it- I said Im working on it. ( they needed a witness to sign the paperwork that was a DISINTERESTED PARTY ) Had trouble finding someone. 3 days after mom passed I received another call, I said ** working on it- almost done. He said ok thank you. This morning ( a Monday) I was ready to email it over this would have been day 5 but got a call that they no longer can take my mom- its been over 48 hours. you could imagine my confusion!! I said excuse me what 48 hours? Where does it say I have 48 hours- they said the paperwork we sent. I read it 50 times- no where does it say that. NEVER did the 2 guys who called me to remind me mention this either! NOR did the email they sent mention it EVER. This was my dear moms dying wish. We were grieving!!! They were so rude and insensitive - BEWARE of this organization :(. We are broken hearted

  Although overall I was very pleased with Medcure, what dismayed me was when the 2 men picked up my husbands body, they put him in a body bag and zipped it close in front of me and my sons. That was a traumatic moment for us. They could have been more compassionate and told us ahead of time what they were going to do so wed have the option to leave the room. This was at my home.

  Dont use them. My mother took their card and signed up thinking she could help medical research. She passed away aged 69 from cancer. Over three days I spent 30 minutes doing a screening call, coordinating with them on which hospice she was admitted, filled out a form they needed, and took another call to confirm the contents of the form. The morning she passed I called to notify them and was informed a funeral director had been dispatched to pick up the body. All was good.Three hours later I was informed their funeral directors had declined to pick her up (it was July 4th), so either I had to find another funeral home MedCure could use or they were declining the body. Needless to say that was not what I wanted to hear after my mom had died and I had been told three times we were all set. So I am paying for her services and science can suffer.

  Don't use them. My mother signed up 7 years ago. She is now 99 and on hospice. When I called to find out if there was anything I needed to do before her death I was told they don't take bodies over the age of 95. But their web site says no age limit. Also they don't service ******** where she lives because of transportation issues. On one notified me of these changes and I was told they where to busy to notify people. This was upsetting to me because I could no longer fulfill her final wishes. She has dementia so I can't communicate with her so she will understand what she now wants for her final wishes. They are uncaring and undetectable.

  My review is just how easy it is to download the forms and I faxed it to them and 2 weeks later had my medcure card in the mail. So my sister and I are *************. By the reviews I see on here Im glad I am donating my body.
