    On January 31st, 2025, I signed up for an answering service through Ruby Receptionists and was offered a plan of $159 per month for the first three months. I was led to believe my business calls would be answered and I would be notified of my calls by email. The service has not helped me in any way. Since signing up, I have had more work than relief. I have to check the call log daily on my own so technically, the calls are being routed to Ruby Receptionist, and I'm paying to have my calls go through them, then I still have to check the log of calls. Supposedly, the majority of the calls they answer are hang *** so they've been no messages for the receptionists to share with me. There was a call on February 28th where I was told the receptionist should have taken a message and did not. In addition to not benefiting, my February bill was $252.00. I called the company today and was told they $100 discount would be added, however I could not cancel my subscription and would be charged through end of March. It is unfair to keep me in a subscription that I am not finding value in and still have to do the work myself. I am literally paying to have my calls forwarded to them and I still have to check the call log myself.

    I repeatedly tried to cancel this service using their app and online portal. Eventually I just cancelled my credit card because they would not stop billing me. After i thought I had cancelled, Ruby answered perhaps 8 calls in 6 months, then claimed I owed them $1800 because they had been trying to bill my non-existent card without my knowledge. After I told them over and over again that I had had to cancel my card to stop their recurring charges, they sent me to collections.Stay far, far away from this very sneaky company. They don't care about small business owners and engage in deceptive billing practices.

    This company is violating the personal privacy of 1st party business customers. They are taking information without identifying themselves as a 3rd party answering service. An employee of this company pretended to work for a private business I was trying to contact. They took my personal contact information... However, I asked this person if they worked for the company itself or if they worked for a 3rd party answering service. The employee of Ruby answering service avoided answering my question twice and also gave me a response to make me think they worked for the private business rather than for Ruby. I told the person I did not approve of a 3rd party such as Ruby documenting my personal information and they hung-up on me. This is a problem as 3rd party business like this are documenting the personal contact information of people and selling that information. Furthermore it is not legal for a person to be answering calls and pretending to work for the business itself.
