This business seems to be an illegal operation engaged with multnoma police to fleece people. They have numerous complaints about their review page and have ****** shadowbanning anyone from writing further negative reviews. This seems to be 100% their modus operandi because my case matches so many others. I had a car that is easy to steal but was not in drivable condition on my property stolen. You would have needed a tow truck to steal this vehicle, it's not something you can drive. This is on its surface a towing company. Similar victims of car thefts have left all kinds of reviews stating their battery terminals where ripped up/battery stolen/replaced. Mine was as well. I have had my cars stolen many times. Each time, it was loaded with stuff, if someone had wanted to steal my battery only, as that was the only thing taken, they could have easily taken it and only it and not have had moved the car with their towing truck. That's not their game. They take the cars, lay them somewhere, wait for the resident to make a complaint, then tow it, then lean the money on their victims cars, charging them to take it. The cars are not in drivable condition so you are forced to have the car removed by towing if you want it back. If you don't, you will have to pay them 250 or more to take the title. This way they can legally take possession of the vehicle and chop it or auction it. While this assertion is not provable in court, it is obvious that this is what the company is engaged with based on preponderance of evidence. The many victims with similar stories, the lies told by the company about how much it will cost to retrieve my vehicle and how soon I must, the admitted secrecy of the higher **** who by fortunate chance I heard say in their own words they avoid answering the phone (I had the fortune of talking to her twice). It's a complete break from the thefts that came before. This business is using both legal and illegal means to leverage the law against their victims.

The vehicle is question was called into to ** by the **************** ****************** We did not steal this vehicle. We are on a rotation basis, and each tow company that has a contract with the **************** gets called based on the rotation.  We have no complaints of stealing vehicles. We have been in business since **** and pride ourselves on our integrity.

I am rejecting this response because: It's both a lie and logically inconsistant. Rotation basis has nothing to do with weather or not they could accomplish this kind of theft, nor was any attempt made to justify the 10s of the reviews that complain about battery shenanigans like I experienced. Things simply line up too perfectly for this kind of convenient excuse to pull off, and rampant corruption in portland has existed long before the ****s. There's simply no justification for the state i found my vehicle in if it was a theft to chop it, nor a theft to joy ride, as the vehicle isn't going anywhere, I had it towed to my house in the first place, and there it sat until it was taken. additionally, while the police are indeed called, the cost in moving a vehicle to somewhere exposed that it can be complained about is not a meaningful barrier, nor particularly difficult thing to do given the many, many, many abandoned or bad shape cars available. And Finally, there is no actual basis to assert above board activities preclude criminal elements. Many businesses pull in legitimate money and break laws with intent, even widespread reputable ones. ******* for example knowingly violated the *** for over a decade and simply got a slap on the wrist. This complaint merely illustrates that this company has a reputation for behavior that suggest criminal activity. Many people have left reviews sharing a similar experience to me, who knows how many more grudgingly ate these fees.

Simply do a thought experiment. You are stealing a vehicle, it can't operate, it's not driving anywhere, so you need to tow it off the premises in the dead of night. Do you then take this cars battery out after towing it, leaving it behind, and taking nothing else of value? if your intention is to use it to live in if you are homeless, do you leave not a scrap of anything else in the vehicle suggesting your presence? if your intent is to chop the thing, do you take it somewhere exposed that the police can find it? Even if the car is not much, theres still the catalytic converter and custom muffler that are worth a nice bit of money, and not particularly difficult to steal. The towing company on the other hand has the most to gain from the way this car is in its current state. Without a battery, and on the hook for a new one, many customers would be in for even more of a price hike to get their ****** out. its not unlikely that the price to get the car out will be 350, and even more to add in a new battery and fix the shredded wire terminals keeping it from being plug and play. It's also not particularly believable anyone desperate enough to cut these cables to steal the battery would also be willing to then afterwards remove the ends from the battery terminal normally either. I have had my cars stolen a total of 4 times. The outlier is the time with this company. As with most complaints in the BBB, this boils down to a he said she said, and in the first place the citizens of this country have no recourse by design anyway. While I am not ever expecting that they will do the right thing, I don't intend to let them wave away this behavior. It's warranted that this stand as a record against the underhanded ways they conduct business.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

Amazing, 30 minutes to type this? for what reason would this be an issue if I have 7 calander days to do so. I require more information about what exactly you want me to say in regards to recompensation from this company. You are not an enforcement agency, as you said, so you are not in any position to request anything from them that is reasonable to the best of my knowledge. I have requested outcomes I believe are morally justified, however if you find them wanting what would you even consider to be reasonable given the company can refuse any request for any reason? These people have already sent me a new bill despite giving me also a reciept absolving me of any debts from them. Along with the damages to my car lining up to the same suspicious behavior left by half of the other reviewers of this company, I have to wonder what BBB thinks a proper resolution would look like for a company that is damaging other peoples vehicles on purpose, taking components out of them, and at times, even stealing them right off the side of a quiet neighborhood.

I do not have any reason to hold you to fighting a losing battle, but given the severity of these unanswered complaints by the company for years, I don't think its fair to bury the truth like you seem to be attempting. I go to the BBB like I would go to any other whistle blowers, to warn people of a illicit companies awful behavior. Whatever crocodile email apology letter is usually given out doesn't interest me. I would not be willing to take down my request if it involved in any way hiding this on their page. This behavior isn't something that a company should be able to get away with, even if they tried to re compensate me personally for my damages, which estimate about 750 given I was offered 500 to my car and they already charged me 250, and are now attempting to further collect.

      >recompensation

      >let the complaint stand as a record on their profile.

Again, we do not steal vehicles. The client received a lien notice because by law I have to send this notice. She is not being asked for any more money. We do not steal vehicles.  We are under contract with the ****************. She can if she wants call the **************** and complain. Their phone # is ************ ask for ***************** he is the towing coordinator.
