    My vehicle was towed by Roseburg Towing due to someone else using my vehicle without my knowledge. Inside my vehicle is 89% of my clothing, shoes, all but one of my blankets, medications, and my dog safety gear (leashes, harnesses and collars). Oregon Administrative Rule, Chapter 257, Division 50 states:"The tow company shall allow the owner to retrieve belongings of an emergency nature without a fee. These include but are not limited to; glasses, wallets, purses, money, credit cards, clothing, child safety gear..."I am home and live in a travel trailer. I don't have the money to get my vehicle back. Roseburg Towing is charging me $300.00 just to get my belongings. The sheriff's office won't help because they say it's a civil matter. But, it's a law that Roseburg Towing is blatantly ignoring.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    The impound was made by the sheriff's department, however the *** states the owner of the vehicle is allowed to retrieve items of an emergency nature from the vehicle without a fee as long as it is done during business hours. The items in my vehicle were of an emergency nature including all of my clothing and my blankets, my medications and my dog's safety gear which are like my children.

    I am quoting Oregon Law Chapter 257 division 50.

    My claim is absolutely true because they denied me access to the vehicle unless I paid them $300. Which by law definition is extortion.

    I am rejecting this response because: according to Oregon laws the waffle owner of an impounded and towed vehicle has the right to retrieve items of a emergency nature from said vehicle without a fee. I have attached the laws that state this fact. The fact that Roseburg Towing wanted to charge me $300 to get items of emergency nature from my vehicle is unlawful.
