Shilo inns policy is Your dog may be left unattended in your room. However, if you leave the premises of the hotel with your dog unattended in the room, the dog must be in a crate or dog carrier while you are gone. A valid phone number should be listed on your reservation, in case of emergency. Shilo management reserves the right to require the removal from the hotel premises of any dog that is disturbing guests or creating a nuisance that was pulled from the corporate website. We arrive to celebrate my daughters birthday and they are now saying they do not follow corporate policy and are dog is not allowed to be alone even in a kennel. Im now spending my daughters birthday in the zoo parking lot with my dog while my wife and kids are enjoying her party. Worst experience Ive ever had with a business and the lady who claims to be a manager needs to be fired!

Terrible experience for my friends in room 205 and 213, and me in room 225. The door between rooms in 205 was OPENED by the stranger (a man) in the next room after 10 p.m., and was quickly slammed shut by my female friend. Security was unable to fix it, and had to move a dresser to block the door. My friend was moved to another room. The next day, the General Manager refused to speak to my friend by phone; said she'd take her contact information and call her "when it was convenient." She refused to comp the room after this frightening experience, until we had insisted that the front desk person call her TWICE. She also refused to speak to my friend at all, which is appalling, especially coming from a female GM. A strange man had complete access to my friend's room, security could do nothing to fix the lock, and she didn't have the spine to say "sorry" to my friend??? And it took 2 phone calls to get her to comp the room?? This place should be shut down. Other problems were: shower head literally broken off in 213, cigarette smell in non-smoking rooms 213 and 205, and in 225 there was a ball of hair stuck to the shower wall, leftover something (popsicle?) in the freezer, plus some other goop frozen to the wall of the freezer, and partially shredded curtains. It also smelled, just not of cigarettes like the other two rooms. Did I mention they didn't have a working ELEVATOR? They didn't notify us of the lack of elevator, even though they had an e-mail address - maybe because they wanted us to be within the non-refundable 24 hour window before we knew about it. We would have cancelled, because my friend has a bad knee and stairs are difficult. The GM's inaction is surely reflective of a culture of indifference to anything that is important to the guests, like, say, not having a strange man open the door to your room. It is the GM's lack of compassion and spine that have prompted me to write multiple reviews regarding lack of security. I have photos and video.
