We tried using this outfit, but eventually had to drop them before we even got started. Their bid came in reasonable to begin with, but continued to go up over time. Most of their medium the larger buildings will require engineering and plans. They dont include that in the quote. For us it was over $7000. When we asked why it was so expensive they said there was more material involved. We thought they wouldve let us know that upfront on the original bid. And we waited for over a month to get the engineering, only to find out they forgot to contact the engineers. We ended up going with a pole barn that was bigger for the same price and much better built.

BAD quality, VERY BAD customer service!I was very specific when I bought my building that it needed to be rated for 100mph in ******** Wa. I was assured it was, but that wasn't the ******* July I contacted the company about screws falling out of the building. Improperly installed at an angle so they backed right out. First, I was basically told buzz off and read my contract because it's a one-month warranty. After moving up the chain of command to the sales manager I was told in send pics. I even suggested I purchase extra braces to solidify the building. After receiving the pics, the woman told me she was taken it to the board and would contact me in a week. Crickets, nothing, didn't hear back. I called and was told by a rude on the phone to read my contract it is what it is.The building came down in 74mph winds on my classic truck. Fortunately, I was hunting in the ****** trailer I usually park under the carport.I would buy, recommend or even want their products for free, they should be ashamed on themselves.

    Hello,

We are sorry to hear about your structure. Looking at your account and your order, I see that the carport was installed in 2023, and you spoke with our manager in August of this year.
It appears she went over the terms of your contract, which reference wind and snow loads. Also, once a structure has been modified or moved, it is considered as-is.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.

Spent 27K on a building, roof leaks in 3 spots. When I asked about warranty, I was told too bad.Honorable way to treat a customer. Grab the cash, no more service.Would put zero stars if it was an option.Shame on you!

    Dear ****,

We are truly sorry to hear that you are not happy with your structure. After reviewing the photos that you sent us it is clear that you have made major modifications to the building that we installed, a few are as followed Vapor barrier on the roof, constructed a inner-wall, as well as it seems you have ran electrical. This is far from the original state of the building that we installed, and when modification are done to the building it is common that those modifications can effect the integrity of the building it self, which can lead to leaks as in your instance. Once modifications are made to the building wcmb can not guarantee the integrity of the structure as it has been altered from the original state. Had this happened before any modification were made wcmb would have been happy to go and check for leaks and make any repairs necessary.

I work for a county building division in ******. West Coast Metal Buildings misleads customers about the overall cost for their metal structures which require a building permit (see State ***********************, ORSC or OSSC, for what type of buildings would be exempt from a building permit: https://www.******.gov/bcd/codes-stand/Pages/adopted-codes.aspx ). When you are required to obtain a building permit for these "pre-engineered, fabricated metal structures", you must submit plans and the engineering for the pre-fabricated structure. West Coast charges an insane amount of additional money just for the plans/engineering (one customer was quoted $2,000 for plans/engineering for his 12x30 standard open wall carport!!). The building code does not have a prescriptive engineering path for a company's "prefab, engineered buildings"--this is the whole point of the prefabrication of the structures they build: it's their engineering and it should be included with your purchase of pre-fab metal buildings. It shouldn't be an extra cost or they need to be transparent about what they are charging. Sadly, West Coast is not the only price ****** when it comes to withholding the prefab engineering from the cost of their structures - most of these companies do this. They like to blame the permitting requirement for plans/engineering on local government and that's really dismissing accountability. Please don't skip obtaining a building permit, if required, because it will be discovered/a complaint will come to the local jurisdiction and then it becomes a messy, costly code enforcement case. Be smart and inquire if engineering is included (and if a permit is required) before you buy one of these.
