My wedding dress was consigned through this business two months ago and I have not received a check for it selling. I have tried contacting the owner to resolve via phone, in person, email, and Instagram and have not heard back. I attempted communication with the business in January and February to check in on when I should pick up my dress (the contract is for 6 months, and I consigned it on Sept 6, 2024) but never heard back so I called and left voicemails March 7 and 8. Since I didnt hear back, I visited the store on March 14. That's when I discovered the dress had sold. The employees told me the dress sold for $1900 two months ago and that I should receive a check for $760 in the mail (as the contract says I get 40% of the sale). I hadn't been notified of the sale or received a check in the mail. To double check I confirmed with staff my address and contact info in the system was correct. They told me they would check with the owner when she came into the shop later and the owner would give me a call that afternoon. That afternoon, I got a call from the employee I had spoken to that morning saying they spoke with the owner and the check had been cut that morning and I should receive it soon. I still have not received the check. I sent an email to the business on March 21 asking for an update since I hadn't received the check. I tried contacting them through Instagram on March 24 and sent an email on March 28. I would like to try resolving through BBB before filing in small claims court.

    Hi,

I wanted to provide an update on my existing complaint #********. I received a check from Shabby Chic Bride however the amount on the check was for $570 which is not the amount I was told by staff I would receive. As mentioned in my original complaint, I was told by staff the dress sold for $1900 and, per the contract, I would receive 40% of that which would be $760.

Even though I have received the check, I still have not been able to get ahold of the business owner- Im wondering if BBB could reach out to get clarity on the payment amount?

    Thank you,
    Nicole
