May 21, 2023 I attended the Bridal Show in ********, ** with my future daughter-in-law(***) and her mother and father. We stopped at a DJ's booth. After talking to the two DJ's that committed to provide their DJ services in person **************** for our wedding on Feb. 29, **** we came to an agreement. We signed up in their date book to hold the date for Feb. 29, **** which they said that the date was available. They had no contract to sign at that time, but said it would soon be emailed. I took them for their word and made a good faith payment of $240.00 and do have a copy of the receipt. June 5, 2023 through Sept. 28, 2023 my future DIL and I have made multiple attempts via email, ************* with concern and asking them to send a contract. Finally on Sept. 21, 2023 I phoned ***** (DJ ) and asked her to send a contract to me (*****). ***** requested my email, which I texted her that same day. Sept. 26, 2023 I texted *****, are you able to email me a contract today? My son and fiance are worried. Sept. 27, 2023 my DIL received an email from DJ *****. In short it stated that they **************** the DJ's that committed to DJ in person at our wedding decided to book their wedding on Feb. 29, **** & a different entertainment company (which is not an employee of *****'s) would be in the contract. At that point we believe ***** cancelled on us and a $240.00 refund is due. Sept. 28, 2023 (4 months later) my DIL (not *****) received an email with a link to a contract. Our agreement with ***** (as discussed in person May 21, 2023) was not for the other entertainment company and we did not approve of that DJ. My future DIL informed ***** in writing via email that we did not approve of the different entertainment person as the *** pricing was more expensive & was not what was agreed upon at the Bridal Show, thus a contract was not signed & *** requested a refund. Sept. 29, 2023 I texted ***** for a refund. Since Oct.2, 2023 I have been trying to get my $240.00 back.
