      In my year of working at the newly opened Recovery Works NW Detox, I assisted with creating work flows and helping with quality improvement. After about a year in and we had reached over 700 patients my mental health started to decline, I was in school and under a lot of stress. My biggest concern while working there was patient transitional care as they only had two ********s assisting with housing transition and I wanted to ensure everyone was taken care of. I was told multiple times "you need to learn to careless". I was terminated almost an exact year after I had been working for them, once my compassion fatigue was at its worst. I had been verbal regarding my mental state and management did not give any concerns regarding my personal health. Once I was terminated I had applied for unemployment which was denied after the due date and on the letter I received from Unemployment on the 6th said they made the decision on the 7th. They denied my unemployment due to medication dispensing concerns which were completely the opposite of my normal work ethic, typically I will have the nurses write out what patient and the medication to be dispensed - I will not dispense medication on verbal orders alone as it is not in my scope of practice. Since being terminated my personal life has started to fall apart at the seams and if Recovery Works had better policies and procedures regarding the care of their ********s and clients, I do not believe this would've been the outcome of my tenure with them. I am sorely disappointed in all aspects, especially because I was not the first ******** this had happened to.
