On April 1 of 2022, me and my husband walked into a Relax the Back store a few blocks from our home.I was interested in a Tempur-pedic bed. The salesman was named ********************Ive always wanted to try a Tempur-pedic memory foam bed but could not afford it. I suffer with severe back pain and was open to the trial. I was tired because in the past year I had trialed 3 other beds that didnt work out.We continued to speak to ***** about a 90 day trial.***** explained that we had nothing to lose except a $300 restocking fee. Out of the three previous mattresses that I had tried and returned before the trial was up the restocking fee was $0 - $100. I thought $300 was steep, but really wanted to try the mattress. So we signed up for the trial. ***** brought to our attention that during the three months trial that if something were to happen to the bed the warranty would not cover it if I didnt have the their foundation. foundation was $450 for a CA King. Our current bed were slats not a flat foundation. So we purchased the $450 foundation knowing that there is no refund for the foundation. He also explained there would be a return fee of $300 for restocking.Sadly, the foam bed was too hot.I called ***** + I explained I needed to return the bed + he said he will process the refund + he would mail me the receipt + we walked through everything over the phone.Once I received the receipt, I was expecting a balance of $750 $450 foundation + $300 restocking fee I was stunned to see an additional fee $199 pickup fee.I called ***** + asked why is there a mysterious pickup fee of $199.00 that you NEVER mentioned once. That would mean to return the bed before the 90 day trial would cost $500 not $300.We never agreed to those terms. ***** said next time you buy a mattress I can waive the fee for you. SMH Sharetown - a charity picked up the bed. Deceptive, lack of integrity regard additional hidden return fees.
