Sold me a busted $24k car for $50k.Based on what the car salesman kid said, it may have been a car of a friend/girlfriend of a salesman, so they hid the faults to get the sale through. I was told it was mechanically sound and up to date on maintinence, which qualified it for an extended warrenty which I bought into. It was not up to date on maintinence nor was it mechanically ok.**Vehicle vibrates, most noticeable in the floor, pedal, seat, arm rest, steering wheel, vibration causes pain and tingling. Second day of ownership it gave me a sore sprained ankel, couldnt walk normal, painful, this lasted about a month, had to go in for x-ray. NEVER a smooth or comfortable ride, always painful and frustrating, seems dangerous. A year later it sent me to ER again with an extremely painful tailbone, felt like it was fractured, xrays ok.I took it to 3 mechanics to get it diagnosed and fixed within the 2 year lemon law period, It was not fixed. I even took mechanic advice and got new tires, break pads and rotors. Still didnt fix it. Spending money trying to fix it made me miss a couple months of the car payment, so now I'm in debt, with this busted pos that injures the driver and may be dangerous to drive as it may cause a crash at anytime anywhere. Lums Auto was rude when I took it in for diagnosis and when I have called to get this resolved. They seem fine leaving a disabled customer in debt with a busted dangerous vehicle.I don't know what to do. I was swindeld and wronged. This busted vehicle already causes injuries and who knows when it will cause death of who knows how many.Business Response

******* ******* purchased a 2017 ****** Outback on 3/24/23 for a price of $24998. Despite his vulgarity, we had his vehicle looked at by our service department. There was no indication of anything that remotely resembled what Mr. ******* described. Mr. ******* called our dealership yesterday (May 20th) and spewed profanity towards both our Sales Manager and Salesperson. Not satisfied, he went on to make threats of physical violence towards them both at our dealership, and their home residences. While conducting a search on the *** of the 4Runner Mr. ******* claimed he did not receive fair value on, it was linked to a police report another report from the Deschutes *********************** of violent threats made to ************** District in *******, OR. Clearly Mr. ******* has a history of mental instability and harassing behavior. We ago above and beyond to help all our customers before and after the sale. We fix all issues that we are remotely liable for, and many that we are not so that our customers are taken care. What we will not tolerate, nor succumb to, is any form of verbal or physical threat made towards one of our employees. For the safety of our staff and customers, Mr. ******* is no longer allowed on the property of Lum's Auto Center.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
******* *******The response from *********** auto center is very inapropriate and rude, targeting my disability and making derogatory remarks.
Also fringing on disability exploitation, and their comments on a prior legal issue. I was abused by landlords, they threatend me, harmd me, made it intolerable to live at the site, under threat and harm I was forced to sign their papers and forefit my lease and my brand new RV, I always paid rent , but they wanted existing tenants gone so they can raise rent, they stole my brand new RV a $33,000 purchase plus all my property, another $10k-$20k and made me homeless. When calling the crisis line reporting the abuse and theft, I used bad words for 10 seconds over multiple calls for help reporting the landlord abuse and crimes , the crisis line decided to report the bad words and failed to report the calls for help or the landlord crimes and harm.
I did nothing of the sort that Lums said about the legal issue, the crisis line made the public threat and publically slandered me. I gather this is how Lums even knows of this incident.
But hey, there is a homeless and housing crisis, and the cops let landlords do very bad things to paying tenants to make them homeless and rise rent fast on the next sap.
This has been Lums attitude since time of purchase. When I brought it in for diagnosis there were no issues or anger, I was frustrated that Lums said they would cover the cost of the diagnosis, they only covered half. They did NOT even test drive the vehicle. They said the gas light came on while it was running in the shop, so they didnt drive it, the *** said they had 5 ***s who work there that own subarus sit in it and they did not notice the vibration. But Lums only has 1 mechanic who works on ******* and it takes over a month to get it, I think it was about a 4-5 week wait for this diagnosis apt. I specifically said its not super noticable so fell free to drive it for a few miles. They did not even drive it 1 mile, nor did it leave the shop. So they lied to BBB in their first response. They were rude at this diagnosis apt and the tech changed the recipt print out from what it showe to the mechanics.
When I asked the head tech why they didnt even test drive it nor pay for the whole diagnosis fee as I was led to belive, his response was "I think we're done here".
This was even more frustrating, why are we done here when the vehicle was not properly diagnosed and I am left to drive a harmful dangerous vehicle. It injures and is painful to drive due to the vibrations. I have NEV** had a vehicle shake like this, as I said it caused something like a sprained right ankle and foot just a couple days after purchase, and it lasted for weeks. It is still sore and painful every time I drive it, I dont like limping and being in pain when I go to the store. Let alone longer drives get intollerable, I have to set cruise control and take my foot off the pedal and lift my leg away from the vibrating floor board to ease the pain.
I said was you ***s shouldnt sell dangerous harmful vehicles like this and fail to fix it or address it, as it can cause a crash , and it could happen anywhere. Saying even near them , makes it more realistic so they can understand that it is real and concerning. It was not a threat. But it seems like they want it to cause harm and injuries, as it already has, as they have been made aware of. It has sent me to the ** twice! That is rediculous.
Predatory lending may also be at play, as this busted $24k car is $50k via their lending.
I am a disabled adult on **********, I havent used credit in 20 yrs so that made it bad. I never liked taking out loans so I would always save up and pay. Now when I needed a loan, my credit is shot due to not using it. Now its even worse since being sold this faulty car, I put safety first so I spent money trying to get the car fixed which made me defsult on payment, so Im in a loose loose situation and Im being injured and hurt every time I drive this pos.
I thought I was getting a reliable new car, not this nonsense.
The trade in of my 2006 4runner, during the sale I was told the trade in value would be close to market value. Similar 4runners were selling for $12k-$20k, he hid the trade in cost until the end when I was almost done with the paper work, they valued it at $3k, and the next day I saw they posted it for sale of $11,988. As ****** dealer, they know the value of a 4runner, they just mislead me.
Their assumptions of the prior legal stuff was present at the time of purchase and at the diagnosis apt. This is very inapropriate. They should not make assumptions about customers past and mistreat them. Very unprofesional and rude.
So here I am, still stuck with the busted car, had to limp into and around the store today, again, like every time I drive it to the store.
This vehicle also qualifies as a Lemon under the Lemon law in ******. 3 unsuccesful diagnosis repair attempts at reputable mechanics/dealerships in less than two years, add 1 more if you include the visits to *******************. "defects that significantly impair its use, value, or safety". It injures the driver when in use due to the vibration felt throughout. If it injures the driver, ofcourse it may cause a crash as I have stated.
Lums needs to retract their derogatory rude statments and remedy this issue, pay for repairs, or trade it in for a reliable safe vehicle and pay for damages.
I came in to trade in my 4runner for a newer 4runner they had for sale, it was only $5k more than what I was approved for, and if they had given an honest trade in value for my 4runner, that could have covered that $5k difference. But hey, they want to make money, they dont care about the busted vehicles they sell to customers. Thats been made clear.
I do not like being hurt whenever I drive my car, I do not like feeling unsafe on the road. I do not like being in debt for such a bad busted vehicle. It has been painful and frustrating SINCE PURCHASE, never has there been a nice comfortable normal drive. I have owned like 7 vehicles and none ever hurt/injured me like this car does. I noticed it the 2nd day of ownership, I dont know how they didnt notice it.
Their dismisal of the issue and failure to help fix it should be noted and made public by BBB. Their discrimination, bias, assumptions and demeaning treatment due to past legal issues is out of line and unprofesional. And they should not even be aware of it.

I purchased a vehicle from **** on March 25 2024, to be shipped to ****** titled & registered in ****. I was charged $248 for ******************** Processing The sales paperwork was to be sent to me in ******. On 4/29 I received a message from my mother in law that she received a package for me. I received the paperwork a couple days later that didnt break down the cost, it included shipping costs in the vehicle price. I contacted the ***************** corrected the sale agreement, I signed it and mailed it back to them with the rest of the paperwork & a copy of my military orders which would be needed to process the *********************** May 8th I received the vehicle. On 5/14 I received a call from the Franklin County Clerk of ********************* and was informed that I needed to provide more paperwork & a check for $16.50 for the title which I did. I informed the salesman of this & got no reply. On 5/24 I received another call from *************** who said they needed a copy of my military orders as they werent included in the paperwork I emailed them that day. On June 4th I contacted **** as the temporary tag was about to expire & we hadnt received the title or registration yet. In discussion with their title office they told me that the $248 fee was only to prepare the paperwork & that they dont provide the title or registration. Except they do normally. Purchased a used 21 Ram **** from out of state. ***** had a clean title but arrived with small dents and had body work done to one of the doors. My fault for not seeing it in person first but have had good luck with other dealers (*******************) while doing this. The real problem came when I was trying to wire the purchase amount ***** in finance had a problem with wanting to send me a purchase agreement with out sending funds. Then after I was finally able to get that accomplished I was charged for registration and title as agreed upon in the purchase agreement on 2/27. I reached out on 4/9 to see when I should expect my title and registration and was assured by ***** it should be soon since she submitted it to my states DMV. 4/29 I receive mail from **** with the title and registration paperwork that I filled out on 2/27 with a note to go to my local DMV to get it transferred in my name. I reached back out to ***** and was told it was for a temp tag and they do not do registration or titling and Im on my own.Ive purchased many vehicles out of state and have never had a more difficult time dealing with someone in finance. My states law requires dealers to submit the paperwork when the vehicle is sold by a dealer and I guess ****** is different? This fee not being refunded is about principle and when someone tells you something in writing then double backs and ignores what they just wrote is enough for me not to purchase from the **** dealerships and to recommend others dont as well.Business Response

Hello ******************,
I am sorry to hear that we didn't meet your expectations with your last vehicle purchase. On line E of the purchase agreement, the Title & Registration Processing Fee is a fee for processing the title work and a trip permit fee for our out of state customers. ****** titling and registration fees were not calculated into the final price of the vehicle. We will gladly refund you the $148 fee for your inconveniences. Please confirm your mailing address and we will get that out to you as soon as possible.
I also want to apologize for the delay in getting the titling paperwork to you. There was a delay with the former owner's bank in releasing the title to ** in a timely manner.
For our out of state customers that pay cash, we send the titling paperwork directly to the customer to ensure that all documents are present/signed and any licensing/plate changes can be made by the customer when registering the vehicle. I am sorry this was not communicated by ***** and you were told that the paperwork was submitted directly to the ****** DMV. We will ensure that all of our finance people have a better understanding of the titling process and clearly communicate that with our customers going forward.
Please feel free to reach out to me at ********************************* or ************.
Thank you,
***************************

Truck went into shop for power steering leak in the return hose line. They replaced the power steering pump and radiator. Did not fix the issue it had come in for. Had to take it back in to get the return hose replaced. Was charged over $2000 for maybe $300 or $400 t+m job. I checked the radiator fluid prior to the vehicle entering the shop, there were no leaks. Full of fluid as was the reservoir. I can furnish receipts once this scam company accepts it's shameful con of a senior citizen.
