7/29/2022 HVAC installation was ordered. After installation had problems immediately with the furnace turning off. Without kicking out an error code. The gas lines would pop and the system would completely turn off. Came out multiple times to try and remedy. Finally, they just simply cut my exhaust pipping going from the internals of the unit to the outside and put a hole on top and put a floor vent in it. Still had issues after, but now it was kicking off a E33 code. opened up the unit to find out that they never put a filter in the unit. Cleaned out the unit best I could and placed a filter in it. By this time the furnace wasn't being used anymore. It was starting to be warm enough to just have the system off. Summer came and we noticed the unit was struggling to keep the home at the temp. that was set on the thermostat which was 74. They came out an told us to keep all the vents open and we were probably suffocating the fan. still struggled the rest of the summer. Winter of 2023 came and the error code E33 came back once the furnace started being used. New technician said A/C core was installed 90 degrees incorrectly, the fan needs to be turned up, and the ducting could be not big enough. after several visits of changes and reconfigurations to system. Furnaces is still failing and not heating the house. I had to buy a kerosene heater, three space heaters, just to keep the house from freezing. They have an appointment scheduled for January 10th to replace more parts, which they haven't told which parts. I'm just looking for a refund and possibly some compensation for time away from work, heaters and fuel purchased to keep house warm since installation.

To whom it may concern,I am writing to formally file a complaint against Kennedy Fuel Company for the severely poor service I have experienced concerning my air conditioning unit, which was originally installed by them and was under warranty.I reached out to Kennedy Fuel Company because my air conditioner stopped functioning at the end of July during a period of extreme heat, including several weeks of triple-digit temperatures. I was informed by a trusted HVAC professional that the compressor was faulty. When I contacted Kennedy Fuel Company, ***** confirmed that the unit was still under warranty and that I would be liable only for labor costs. However, I was not provided an estimate for the labor charges at that time. The company scheduled a service appointment for roughly ten days later, but no technician showed up, nor was I contacted to reschedule. After my own follow-up, I was informed that they had a sick employee and was rescheduled for another week later. The first visit occurred on August 8, 2023approximately 18 days after my AC broke down.During the service visit, ****, the technician, installed a new capacitor instead of replacing the compressor, causing the unit to explode in a hazardous manner. The technician then acknowledged the faulty compressor and informed me it would be replaced within 3-5 days. However, it took another 23 days for him to return and properly fix the unit. Furthermore, the job was not completed until September 7, when the *** valve was replaced. After nearly a month and a half of distress, **** presented me with invoices totaling $1850. A detailed breakdown of the bill revealed additional costs for refrigerant, suction filter, filter drier, compressor harness, and a capacitor. These are charges I was neither informed of nor consented to.When I contacted ****** from Kennedy Fuel Company to dispute the charges, I was told that the cost was non-negotiable and that failure to pay would result in legal action. This response is unacceptable, considering the unit was under warranty, and the delays and poor service I experienced. In summary, Kennedy Fuel Company:Installed a defective AC system that failed within the warranty period.Took an inordinate amount of time to repair the unit during a heatwave.Endangered my property and safety by improperly servicing the unit.Charged an exorbitant and unexpected fee for labor and parts.Refused to take responsibility or negotiate on the final cost.I find their behavior and customer service to be appalling and unethical. Therefore, I kindly request that this complaint be taken seriously and that appropriate action be taken against Kennedy Fuel Company for their abhorrent behavior and business practices.Sincerely,********************* ************

The system we installed for the previous owner, ****************** in August 2019.  The labor warranty expired in August 2020.

7/28/2023 Received phone call from ********************* that he had another company diagnose a compressor was out.  The were unable to process the warranty compressor, and he wanted us to perform the replacement.  We went out on 8/1/2023 and confirmed it needed a new compressor.  **** was informed that the compressor was under warranty, but the labor and freon was not.

8/18/2023 We replaced the warranty compressor, the *** valve and orings.

**** was aware of what he was responsible, and only until we sent a final notice that his account would be turned to collections on 10/10/2023, he responded he was hunting and would pay the invoice this week.  He called in yesterday, 10/17/2023 to pay the invoice.

We patiently waited for him to pay his bill that was due at the time of service.  We called and texted several times to reach him with never a response back.

He was fortunate that we were able to warranty the compressor, but the system is out of the labor warranty.

There will be no refund his payment.

I am writing to formally reject Kennedy Fuel Company's response to my complaint for several reasons.

Firstly, I was fully aware and accepting of the fact that I would be responsible for labor costs, which Kennedy Fuel quoted at $695. However, what was neither anticipated nor communicated was that the final bill would inflate to nearly three times this original labor estimate. The explosion and leakage of refrigerant from my air conditioning system, caused by Kennedy Fuel's technician, resulted in additional unforeseen costs, including charges for damaged parts.
If the agreement was for me to cover labor expenses, why did the final invoice escalate to triple that amount? I'm not seeking free service; what I'm confronting is the outrageous conduct displayed by Kennedy Fuel in this situation.
Over the years, I have owned multiple properties and engaged the services of numerous contractors. This is the first occasion where I have felt compelled to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The practice of inflating a bill by 300% post-service without prior notice is, to put it mildly, egregious.
Furthermore, the critique regarding the pace of my payment is unjust, especially when contrasted with the delays I endured waiting for your service completiona timeframe that far exceeded your initial estimates.
I am deeply dissatisfied with both the service and the response from Kennedy Fuel and request an immediate resolution to these issues.

      Sincerely,

      ********************;

At all points of contact with the customer, he was informed that the system that was installed by the previous owner was under warranty for the compressor only.  He was informed that the freon and the labor was not under warranty.  The customer was not quoted a total of $695.00.  That figure would barely cover just the labor figure, not including the freon amount. The exact amount for a compressor change out is only known when it is done being completed.  The labor depends on the amount of time it takes to replace the compressor, add freon and pump down the outdoor unit.  The customer was aware that the both the labor and freon are not under warranty.

Compressor was ordered on 7/28/2023.  It was shipped from the Daikin factory and was replaced on 8/18/2023.  Unfortunately, warranty parts that are ordered from the factory vary in timing that we receive.  Normally, it can take anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks to receive the part.  That is out of our control.  Customer was actually lucky we were able to receive the compressor in the time-frame that we did.

Any compressor change out done by any HVAC company, if the compressor is under warranty, both the labor and freon is not.  That is the responsibility of the owner.

Bought a new heater system for my house 3 years ago. This system has a 12 year **************** year it ran great. Second year had to be worked on to make it work. Third year it has been worked on three times and still doesn't work. All they are doing is just putting in parts that don't help. Then charge me 125 bucks for the service call. I have asked for the system to be replaced and was told no. They want to come out next Thursday and install another part. I asked them what if it doesn't work. Was snapped at. ( but what if it does) . I was told by their repair man that the system was not installed correctly to begin with. Paid for a new cold air return and never received it. I'm tired of calling and being told that they will return your call. But never happens. If they do happen to call they tell you that the part didn't come in. I have to miss work for them to work on the system and so it cost me even more. Money. This system has not worked for a month and they want more time. I am running out of patience with them.

Please see below for following facts regarding the system installed for *********************** at ****************************************************************, **:

      1.  3/21/2019  Gas Furnace installed

      2.  12/17/2020  ************** scheduled, unable to access Gas Furnace, customer needs to provide larger access.  Wrote off $105.00 service call.

      3.  12/8/2021  Furnace not heating, fixed limit switch wire, changed flame sensor.  System running correctly as intended

      4.  12/28/2022  Furnace not heating, replaced main board & pressure switch.  Parts under warranty.  Charged only $125.00 for an hour minimum.

      5.  12/30/2022  ***** called our office regarding furnace not heating.  Daikin technical support gave direction to have the valve changed on the furnace.  Valve was ordered express shipping, arriving at our office on Wednesday 1/4/2023 at 3:15pm.  Offered to ***** to come and install the part the next day 1st thing in the morning on Thursday, 1/5/2023, ***** said that would not work for them due to both of them working.  We asked if he could possibly hide a key or have someone else meet us and he said that was not possible due to their dogs.

      6.  1/5/2023  ***** called for scheduling a different day, and we said our 1st available time was Thursday, 1/12/2023 since he was unable to make 1/5/2023 available.  ***** did ask, "What if the valve doesn't work" and ****** replied, "I think we should think in a positive direction that since this is what the Daikin technical technician, it was take care of the issue."

The Gas Furnace installed had no issues until 12/28/2021.  It ran effectively in the winter of 2019, 2020 and until December of 2022.  We have done everything to accommodate and expedite the service for them.  The furnace has a warranty, so ***** has not been responsible for any parts amount.

Daikin doesn't offer a replacement warranty for this Gas Furnace.

I am rejecting this response because: the repair man said he couldn't fit in the thur the axis door.  I'm twice his size and fit no problem. The service was never preformed and so that is why the $105 was never charged. I shouldn't have to wait a week to get a part that should be on the service truck.  What is happening is I'm told the part will take 2 days and 7 days later we are still waiting. THIS IS THE PROBLEM. ***** the late owner said that if they couldn't fix the problem.  Then they would REPLACE the unit at no charge. This was stated before the install. Now since the installation everything has changed. They didn't say that or they don't remember that. Just asking them to keep their promise. Over a month I winter is ridiculous and still want more time.

      Sincerely,

We are not able to stock every part available for every system.

The part was express ordered on Dec 29, 2022 and was received on Tues. Jan. 3, 2023 and called to schedule to come out the next day on Wed. Jan 4, 2023 to install.  That was not convenient for *****************  **************** scheduled the installation of the part for Thurs. Jan 12, 2023.

We were out at their home on the scheduled date of 1/12/2023 and installed the part, everything is working as per system specifications.

The reason for the rejection is. We had the unit installed In 2019. We didn't have any problems with the unit because it was only working for 6 weeks before we turned it off for the year.  2020 was running over the road as a cross country truck driver. So can't tell you if it was or wasn't. 2021 had to be worked on. 2022 had to be worked on. The unit
