    This office withdrew an unauthorized fee of $300 from my bank account on 5/11/2023. The agreed upon payment plan for dental work was $150 on a bi-weekly basis. Upon speaking with the office on Friday 5/12/2023 I was supposed to be granted a refund in 24hours. As of 5/13/2023 the amount of $300 has still not been refunded. I called the office to inquire about the refund. The representative in the office this day appeared very unattentive to the issue and told me that the refund would be processed between 5-7 business days. Iam  being told different things by different staff from this office and am becoming very frustrated as it was the offices error. Iam wishing to be granted my refund immediately as again this was an unauthorized charge on the offices behalf and it should not have been deducted from my bank account!

    The complaint filed by the patient is not entirely accurate.
    the patient correctly stated that our office withdrew $300 instead of $150 for the first time of her payment plan.
    This was due to an error in our payment system, where a ONE $300 monthly payment was processed instead of TWO $150 biweekly payments. As soon as the patient called, we processed a refund and notified the patient that the refund will be processed the same day, which was done the same day. We apologized for this mistake and assured the patient that this will not happen in the future.

    However, it is a widely accepted norm, that any refund may take up to 5 business days depending on the bank and their processing methods.
    We would like to apologize for this processing error. At the same time, we want to assure the patient that this was not done on purpose. We value every patient and would not have jeopardized our relationship and reputation over any amount of money.

    SUMMARY:

    -incorrect payment processed by mistake( 1 payment of $300 processed instead of 2 $150 biweekly payments)

    -patient contacted us for a refund

    -we provided a refund and an apology

    -refund did not appear on patient's credit card statement until a few days later

    -we confirmed that the refund was received by the patient and she is continuing to make her payments as scheduled.

    ON FEBRUARY 6, 2023, I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH ABINGTON SMILE CENTERTO DISCUSS POSSIBLE CRAPS FOR MY 2 FRONT TEETH. I AGREED TO DISCUSS FINANCE OPTIONS AND SIGNED A RELEASE TO HAVE MY CREDIT RUN. THE AMOUNT THAT WAS DISCUSSED WOULD BE FINANCED WAS 3000.00, AN APPOINTMENT WAS SET AND AFTER LEAVING I CALLED BACK WITHIN THE HOUR TO SAY THAT I DID NOT WANT TO COMMIT TO THE LENGTH OF THE FINANCING AND THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO HAVE THE WORK DONE AT THIS TIME ALTHOUGH I DID SET ANOTHER APPOINTMENT GIVING ME TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT MORE. I RECEIVED A CREDIT ALERT ON FEBRUARY28, 2023 STATING THAT I HAVE A NEW CREDIT ACCOUNT WITH A (3600.00) LIMIT AND AN OPEN BALANCE OT 3022.00. 84% CREDIT USAGE ON THAT ACCOUNT. MY CREDIT SCORE WENT DOWN 10 POINTS,

    In November of 2022, I was seen by Abington Smile Center for a cleaning and possible cavity, A worker came in saying I had atleast one Cavity, maybe two.My right back molar was then filled for a cavity. I also was told that my 5th tooth on the right top of my mouth had a cavity. They then began drilling that tooth, telling me shortly after that it needed a crown. I was shocked since I had never had a cavity before this day. The woman she told me that I was to come back in a couple weeks to have a crown prep and fitting. She also then told me insurance would accept the claim since the tooth deffinetly needed a crown I then called the day of my following appointment to ask if my insurance was covering the crown, to which they replied the claim was denied. I called the insurance company then to ask what could be done, and they prompted me to send another claim in with more information. I then went back to the smile center, with still a half tooth, asking for new images to be sent with more information on the claim. They resent another one, which also was denied. This company not only went ahead and drilled a tooth of mine that didnt call for a crown (as insurance has told me multiple times and as I witnessed myself) but they then also didnt even try to get my claim approved. After looking into the situation more, I saw on yelp others had similar experiences and was then told by a Dentist who is a family friend that this can be found and some smile centers where they overdrill to get more money out of a costumers pocket versus the insurance company. I fully feel I was scammed in this situation, due to the three months of them lying about when they sent claims, lying about what they said on the claim, and about sending it in correctly. They lied about nearly everything. I am now down ~$700 and refuse to pay them any more money or to be seen in their office again.
