Not sure when you received this complaint but we have already communicated via e-mail with *********************** on Dec 5.  He responded to my e-mail later that evening and we went back and forth 2 more times to set up a phone call Dec 7th at 9am.  During that phone call I did confirm a timeline as to when we will be out to work on the roof.  If weather was good we would be out Fri Dec 15.  If not, we would be out the following Monday or the next best weather day after that if Monday was bad weather.  **** agreed with that timeline and was satisfied.   By the way right now Friday Dec 15th looks perfect.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Zimmerman Exteriors, Inc. is over looking my complaint for I have paid them in full, total of $39,300.00 for work to replace my siding, soffit, fascia, and roof on entire house with installing 4 ***** post on front porch. As of September 8, 2021 the roof and siding was complete per ***** ****** when a check was written. See attached estimate image for same work to be performed by another company. The workmanship of Zimmerman Exteriors, Inc. is inconsistent from one side of the house to the other. While doing video walk around with the business expressing my concerns about the workmanship on the photos attached to the complaint, Howie's response was, "that's the way it was before we started".  Whole idea of doing home improvements is to have it better than when installed 50 years ago. No, that is not the way it was! Few years prior I had new spouting, downspouts installed while they replaced fascia, soffit, and repaired rotted wood that was exposed where needed, new flashing was installed (see image) when a prior roof leak was fixed by other businesses at the time of repairs. Attached image shows the directions to the installation of the ***** post. The install of the ***** post is not complete. See all attachments, showing images, texts, emails of the complaint being filed. Zimmerman Exteriors, Inc. has known and has made no efforts in standing good on there 5 Year Workmanship Warranty since January 9, 2022 through September 19, 2022 and Zimmerman Exteriors, Inc. was again reminded of the roof on October 14, 2022 when a in person meeting was set up for the other part of this contract.

The other part of this contract (Addition and Patio) as nothing to do with my complaint along with the email I sent to them November 15, 2022 (see image). For almost all communication as been for this part of the contract via email.

    Regards,

    **** ****

veral areas around house, fascia not nailed, caulk not installed around J channel at windows, that was removed, cut big gap in existing rain gutter and pulled other section of rain gutter away from house causing water drainage to run towards daylight basement window running inside causing interior damage. Counterflashing on chimney was excellent until they bent or moved to install new roof. To this day of May 16,2023 I have not seen or heard from Zimmerman Exteriors, Inc. on fixing these issues. There contract states: 5 Year Workmanship Warranty Included

I've lost a lot of sleep over this one.  I hated the way this played out especially with a person that was an acquaintance and not just a random stranger.  For some reason **** doesn't mention the largest cost part of that $66,000 contract which has aprox $26,650 left unpaid (this is mostly my fault since I didn't send a final invoice). The same contract she mentioned included building a 14x16 addition on the back of her home and adding a 16x22 outdoor concrete patio.  Last year we had fixed some items including completely removing and repouring her concrete outside patio at a huge expense.  We were in the process of working through the remaining items.  We had visited **** **** in person several times to clarify issues and fix them.  We also spoke with the township code inspector since some of her complaints were inspection related and he confirmed he didn't miss anything.  All codes were met but he mentioned he was getting lots of phone calls from ****.  In the last months of the project **** was mostly unavailable when we tried to get any date to meet in person to hear her complaints and discuss solutions.  Because of this and difficulty with **** with accurate communication on what she wanted we started video recording the details of our in-person conversations (with her full knowledge that we were doing so).  This way we could simply replay the video recordings on what we decided on so we wouldn't misstep on writing the plan for the fixes going forward.  We gave her copies of the recordings until she said to not come back.  We wanted to settle all the issues and fixes in writing before proceeding with any more work.  **** ended our attempts to reconcile by e-mailing us saying she no longer trusted us to do anything correctly and did not want us to come back to work on anything. Her actual typed words in the e-mail were "At this time I no longer trust you to fix the problems! Can you cease any further efforts?" (see attached e-mail from Nov, 2022).  **** had verbally said this before in previous face to face meetings but we were able to work through that comment in those meetings.  This time it seemed she wasn't going to change.  I wrote back I am sorry it is ending this way and I would send her a bill for the work that was unpaid.  Everything had been completed other then the regrading of some of the dirt around back of the house, some punch list and minor detail items.  There is still a balance of  aprox $26,650 left unpaid but of course I was going to waive some of that money since we did not completely finish.  The only thing left was for me to send her the final invoice which I didn't do.  That is my fault for not sending by now since that conversation was via e-mail Nov 17,2022.  So the truth is she owes us a lot of money and prior to her telling us to not come back we would have gladly continued completing the project.
