This business (Center exit tire) failed my car for inspection stating that it needed four new tires. The tires were replaced 4 months prior and had less than 10k miles on a 70k mile tire. So me, finding it misleading, got the manager out and made him measure the tread depth in front of me. Turns out that all tires passed inspection with the exception of uneven ware on 1 tire. They told me they would not pass it although it was borderline being right at the legal limit. They told us to handle the tire and they would put the sticker on it. We returned after being out of state and upon arriving at center exit tire they told us “We threw out your paperwork, you’ll have to get another inspection”. We already paid for the inspection once. I dig the paperwork up in my vehicle and showed him since they disposed of it and he then stated “it’s not their fault we don’t take care of our vehicle”. I told them they were full of shit and I wanted to speak to the manager. The kid at the counter was at my car window during this exchange and began to taunt me, encouraging me he was not afraid of me. This is by far the most unprofessional exchange of business I have ever experienced. Upon leaving a review I noticed many others encounter g similar issues. They need to be addressed. I would like the money returned for the inspection the failed to follow through on. The other option would be to honor the service they agreed to and provide the sticker that we paid for as the tire has been addressed. I would rather not give them anymore business, therefor I prefer they return the money.Business Response

Greetings.
First, we would like to thank you for choosing Center Exit Tire to service your vehicle. In response to your displeasure concerning the above event, I will address each accusation in order.
1. You were advised that 1 tire failed inspection, and we recommended 4 tires, as your vehicle is all wheel drive. AWD vehicles require all 4 tires with the same diameter. However, it is ultimately the owners decision. In this event, CXT, LLC will not be held responsible for any damage to the drive system.
2. Per Pennsylvania inspection law, you have 10 days from the date of initial inspection to make repairs and bring the vehicle back for re-inspection. As a courtesy, CXT, LLC allows customers 30 days for a re-inspection, at NO CHARGE. After 30 days have elapsed, the work order and associated paperwork are disposed of. Should a customer return after the 30 day courtesy, yes, you be charged for a new inspection. This was explained to you at checkout at time of the initial inspection.
3. As far as the confrontation allegations, Center Exit Tire does not tolerate anything but respect and professional communication by our employees to our customers. Conversely, CXT,LLC will not tolerate profanity, aggressive postures or challenges to our employees.
In closing, we regret we were unable to re-inspect your vehicle in the manner you desired, however, we must abide by state statutes. We wish you the best in your future automotive repair needs.

I had work done on my car at an establishment called Center Exit Tire. They diagnosed my vehicle with bad brakes and rotors all the way around the car ( so 4 brakes and 4 rotor), 2 front strut assembly (1 on each side) and 2 sway bar links (1 on each side) I decided i would purchase all the parts that were needed and then i would pay for the labor. The labor was added up to be $650.00 After the initial shock, i agreed to just have the work done there because it was convenient and i dropped the car off on November 17th 2023 and left the car over night so that it would be worked on the following day. The following day, they call me and tell me that my car is ready to be picked up. I agree to come get it. Upon starting my car the “hood ajar” light is illuminated. I tell them that something is wrong and they asked was it like that when i brought it in, which i responded no. They attempted to fix the problem but ran out of time because they closed at 5:00pm that day and i agreed to bring it back the following Friday (November 24th) to leave it over night again and have the problem fixed the following day. The following day they call me and tell me that it wasn’t their fault the hood ajar light is now on and that they will rig it so that it will show the light is off on the steering panel. I say “ok whatever, pull my car outside and lock my keys in it and i will be up to get it after business hours” because i couldn’t find a ride until then. I get a ride up there after they close and my car is no where to be found. I worried where my car was the whole night and the following day i call up there and they said “yes we do have it up here, one of the guys accidentally pulled it inside and we locked it up for the night” i explain how pissed i am but decided to just pick the car up and be done with them. Mind you i had to call off work that night it was locked up. fast forward a week and im still having problems with my car. it is making a noise from the front end.Customer Answer

please find the first complaint about this issue. There wasn’t enough space in the other complaint. Ok so i take it back to them again and tell them about the problem. They take it for a test drive and agree that it is making a noise and they will grease all the new parts underneath and try to fix the problem. I again scheduled to drop the vehicle off that Fri to be worked on the next day. I get a call later on Sat and i’m told that it was not their work that is faulty and that it is the brand new part that’s faulty and if i can call and get a new one, it should be under warranty he said, they will swap the parts out. I said “ok but am i going to have to pay for labor again to swap the parts out” and he said “yes but the warranty should cover labor too”. I said that i don’t want any more work on the car and to just leave it outside and lock the keys in the car and i will be up to pick it up when i can find another ride. I was unable to get a ride until Saturday at 7:35pm. The business was closed and my vehicle was no where to be seen again. They are closed Sun so i wouldn’t be able to get my car until Mon.I call the state police and they pretty much say that there is nothing they can do. I have to call off work another night because of their carelessness. I had to wait until they opened up at like 9 Mon morning to contact them to see if they have my car. Again they say someone locked it up over night for my cars safety. Mind you there are 10 other cars parked out there in“danger”but they chose to make sure mine was locked up all weekend when i told them i would be up to get it. they said yes it’s here. I said i will be there at 4 and i want to speak to the owner. i asked the owner to speak in the back to not upset his customers. i asked what he could do to make this right. He said he could give me $50 in coupons. I told him to have a nice day and i will take this to the next step. Charges haven’t been filed as of yet. I also got fired for my job for calling off.Business Response

Thank you for choosing Center Exit Tire for your mechanical needs. We are sorry to hear of your displeasure with the outcome of your service. On 11/18/2023 we did in fact install your parts on your 2016 Ford Fusion. You returned the vehicle for a "creaking" sound when turning. The vehicle was test driven with you accompanying, at which time the following was observed / discussed with you: Alignment was straight, suspension tight and brakes were quiet. A slight creak was heard and arrangements were made to have a mechanic grease / lubricate the front end. Yes, your vehicle was inadvertently pulled inside the building at close of business, and not left out as you requested. This was an unfortunate oversight / mistake. We pull vehicles in the building as a precautionary courtesy to avoid any thefts, vandalism etc. to our customers vehicles. Our customers are overwhelmingly appreciative of this care provided to their vehicles.
Concerning the work performed: You were charged for the labor to install all of the parts you provided. You agreed to the work being performed and had the ability to decline the service if you felt the labor cost was too high. The work was performed thoroughly and efficiently.
Concerning the customer-provided parts: Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee customer-provided parts against defect, etc.
Concerning the hood latch: The hood latch issue had nothing to do with brakes or suspension parts. The only explanation would be an unfortunate coincidence that the latch issue arose at the same time.
Center Exit Tire values all of customers, whether first time or regular. We strive to provide the best customer and vehicle service in the area. We thank you for chosing us and wish you the best with your future vehicle service needs.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter. The pain and suffering as well as the hardship that was created because of the actions of this establishment are just too great to be overlooked or taken lightly. The result was a loss of occupation right before christmas, as well as a permanent smudge on my work history now because i was fired. I was hoping that the BBB could help remedy the problem so that further steps can be avoided.

A few months back, my husband and I took our car to Center Exit Tire due to warning lights on the dashboard. It was found that the wheel bearing needed replacing and we asked for a wheel alignment. After they claimed to have done the work, the car was returned but the same warning lights returned on the car after a few days. We called them to ask what happened and if they truly did fix the issue. We were told to bring the car in so that they could make sure the work they did was intact. After dropping off the car, we received word from the company that we owed them 94.99. I told them I didn't understand why we were paying them. They said they ran a diagnostic and that's how much it cost. I told them that they never said that they were going to run a diagnostic. We were completed blindsided by this fee for a service that we did not ask for. The mechanic began to get disrespectful telling me that he doesn't work for free and I should have known that they were going to do a diagnostic and I should have remembered the cost of one from last time. He hangs up the phone in my ear after telling me how much I had to pay him and he said I would no get my car back until payment was made. I called back and there was another employee who answered and he too was very ignorant with me, threatening to dump my vehicle for non-payment. I continued to tell them that it's not right for them to service an individuals car that they did not approve, and then charge them a fee they never discussed. Price quotes are essential so that clients can determine if they can afford the service or not and decide to accept or decline service. They force clients to pay them by doing expensive services without their approval and then hold their cars hostage while threatening them with possibility of losing their car if they don't pay whatever amount they request. I desire a refund, I did not approve a diagnostic for my car, was not told that one was needed, but was charged for one.Business Response

The ****** vehicle was brought into CXT on 02/25/2023 for diagnostic service for an ABS light and 4
wheel alignment. It was determined the right rear wheel sensor and bearing were bad and needed
replaced. The customer was called with quote and work was approved. Several months later
(9/05/2023) the same vehicle was brought in and dropped off for diagnostic service again for an ABS
light. Husband was contacted and advised that diagnostic service was $90, which he approved. On this
date it was determined that the right front wheel speed sensor and wheel bearing were bad. Called
customer (the wife now) with a quote and the work was declined, claiming that CXT “did not fix the car
right the first time”, and weren’t told that it would be $90 for diagnostics. Explained to customer that
the right front was not bad 7 months ago and over time due to wear and tear that bearing went bad.
Husband approved the diagnostics, wife was angry because of a clear communication issue between the
two of themCustomer Answer

I reject this.
My husband never approved the diagnostic. If he did then we would have already known the cost which means we would not have had to find out the cost after. Sad thing is, this company has done this to many unfortunate people. There are countless reviews of them doing work on people's vehicles without giving a quote. They also have several reviews that show that they have done diagnostics without a persons permission and charged them an insane fee with threat to impound the car. Also, my car is in my name not my husband's. Meaning, they don't even check documents to see if they are dealing with the legit owner of the car. A thief could have brought my car in and they would have been happy to slap a bill on my back because they didn't fact check. Out of pride and arrogance they refuse to refund me. I was yelled at and told I talk too much by a worker and another worker hung up in my ear. This is robbery.

On 1/7/2023 I had an appointment to inspect my vehicle. They stated I needed breaks and rotors to pass inspection. Despite having a oil change in 12/2022 that said my breaks were fine I opted to change them based on my mileage of 65000 miles on oem breaks. On 2/10/2023 took car back as breaks still squeaking told I had to break in breaks. On 3/3/2023 told still have to break in breaks despite being changed on 1/7. And, they stated sometimes aftermarket breaks just squeak. Appointment made for 6/10/2023 told that I needed a new caliper and rear breaks were squealing due to a sticking/bad caliper. Appointment made at Mazda dealership due to them not having part. 6/13/2023 told and shown by mazda dealership that breaks were put on backwards and caliper replacement was not needed. Hense I had no fully functional breaks for 6 months. And, was told im lucky to still be alive. 6/13/2023 went to center tire told shop about breaks was yelled at called a crazy bitch multiple times told I was lying despite providing proof and physically threatened by large male office staff. Owner would not refund all money. Refunded 484 dollars. Break job cost 884.00 total bill 941.35 including inspection. Additional cost of 85.46 incurred due to damage to break systems due to center tire putting all breaks on wrong after multiple visits. And due to physical threats don't feel safe going back to establishment to use warranty therfore have to replace front breaks again out of pocket less that 6 months after original service. Cost to break even/ only pay for one break job due to their gross neglect 485.46. Additionally Center tire receipt attached below where they tried to scam me and get more money for parts that didn't need replaced and proof that job was done there as they mention warranty for pad and rotors.Business Response

We regret to hear of your unsatisfactory experience at our business concerning your rear brakes on your Mazda. We do not dispute the fact that the rear pads were incorrectly installed. Although we wish you would have returned to us so that the issue may have been rectified, free of charge of course, you made the decision voluntarily to take the vehicle to another service station. We did make every attempt to accommodate you for the incorrectly installed brake pads by refunding you the $484.00 you were charged for the brakes and other services.
As far as the allegation of physical threats, we adamantly deny these allegations.
