On May 18, 2024, I had a pipe burst in my basement. It was a sewage pipe that went all over everything. ******* Middleton, from Middleton Plumbing Company, reached out and was able to come out and take a look. ******* stated he would be able to complete the repairs but needed to get a better look to quote the price. On Monday, May 20, ***** was able to get a better look at everything and at that time stated he would need to dig up the entire basement as well as need a backhoe outside the house and would need permits to do so. At that time he quoted $15,000 but said it could be more. He was given a down payment of $7,500. He began working and on May 23, 2024 sent an invoice for $21,000. I called him and he stated it was elevated due to us filing an insurance claim. He wanted to make sure everything was covered. On May 24, 2024 the insurance company came out to assess the damages. They stated they felt that the plumbing company is too high in his costs however, the agreed that insurance would cover a good portion of the repairs. To be more cost efficient and the suggestion of the insurance agent, ***** decided rather than tearing up the inside of the basement he would run piping through the basement along the walls. in addition, he no longer needed to rent a backhoeandtearupthe outside of the house, the damages didn't include that portion and were only the inside pipe. ***** was paid the remainder of the money and he also stated that we would receive a partial refund because he didn't need to do all of the other work as originally thought. With the sewage pipe bursting there were a lot of items that needed to be disposed of, ******* employees also threw out the soiled and destroyed items into a container that I rented. ***** stated that he would befinishingtherepairsalongwith replacing the concrete in the floor. To date this has not been completed, the drain is still not in the floor for water to drain, we paid for fans/2 dehumidifiers that were removed
