    We wrote a check to ***** $500 on 8/16/23 for a contracting job. He was to build an addition on our home. The contract stated the work would begin April 2024. A few changes to the layout had been made, but on May 15th, he sent a message confirming he had emailed our permit application to the office and we only had to wait for the approval to start. I received various messages from him here and there, mostly me asking for updates, him taking days to respond that he was still waiting on info from an excavator, or that he was on vacation. July 8th was the last message I received from *****. He stopped communicating with me at that point. On July 17th I called the local permit office and they confirmed that they had never received a permit application from ***** for our address. I tried emailing and calling, and finally received an email from ***** (who again was on vacation) stating that he had emailed the application, but refuses to provide the details of whom it was sent to. He states on 8/5/24 that he would refund us the $500 by Venmo, to which I provided my Venmo account. He still has not paid us the $500 back and responded to my messages.We would like our money to be refunded by ***** in the full amount. Im happy to provide more information as necessary.

    I returned Brookes money on October 3rd. Ive been in business now for almost 6 years and there had any issues with anyone. She changed the layout a few times causing delays in the process because I needed to submit new forms and adjust pricing etc. I got caught up on a job and informed her I was behind and needed to finish what I already started. I submitted all the required paperwork to permit office via email and even sent her the paperwork as you can see in the emails she shared with you. She decided she didnt want to continue and I sent her the money back. Ive never stole from or screwed over anyone ever while running my business and dont plan to. She is simply upset that I got busy and couldnt drop what I was doing to do their job. I offered to still do it once I caught up but she didnt want to which is fine. But like I said she got her money back and has nothing to be upset about
