      7/16/23 estimate from BAM Construction for bathroom repairs/renovations for $11,182.00. 7/31/23 paid $3500.00. Project to start 8/14/23 with materials being delivered in one shipment. Glass doors arrived without prior notice and shipment was refused. We were caught unaware and had no space to store. Other materials arrived at intervals without notice and we were asked to store "for a few weeks" as the job would start shortly. Startup was delayed pending a window that took longer to get from their supplier. 9/25/23 was the demolition, understanding that if there was unseen water damage it would be addressed. $2091.00 was paid 9/25/23. Water damage/mold was discovered on 9/25/23. New estimate to repair was $2650.00. $1425.00 was paid 9/26/23. Partial framing was done. An electrician was needed for a repair. The electrician that Bam construction uses was unavailable for two weeks. We hired an electrician $325.00. Plumbing repairs and erosion repair were discussed. Estimate $3200.00. BAM was asked for specifics in writing-did not receive, "they do not do itemized estimates." We asked if permits were needed and were initially told no. Then later we were told "applying for permits would incur more costs and significantly delay the job." On **** ********'s assurance we were told " A licensed plumber will complete the repairs; 10/2/23 repairs were done and paid $1600. We felt pressured to complete these repairs because **** ******** stated "we may have to walk away from this job; We are seniors having to use a second story bathroom. Discovered a "temporary plug" was used as permanent solution. BAM attempted correction but used an incompatible plug. The wrong plug still in pipe. Questioning their ability, asked for a "licensed plumber" again and permits. Upon inspection by *** Plumbing-with "expletives" overheard by myself (they closed the door on me), I was told BAM would get permits and redo the job correctly" additional $600 for permits. Little work has been done. Help!
