    A signed contract was initiated on 1/19/23 with I, the homeowner customer and *************************, the owner/contractor of Sunworks Decorative Concrete LLC.The contract was for completion of a concrete counter and bar top. Total amount listed in the contract for the completion of the project is $5,000.Deposit requested from ************************* was $2,500, which was paid via check on 1/23/23 during templating. When he came to ********** to template, he was already local area for another project, so he was close by.Owner promised to make a sample that we liked prior to making the concrete counter tops. I visited the ******** concrete shop in person on January 1/19. I wanted a style for the countertop which included a feathering look, grey tone colors, etc. I could not find that style I wanted at the shop but the contractor told me to send him pictures and he could replicate.We asked what happens if we don't like the sample, he replied then he can make another sample, I sent pictures and he made samples. I didn't like the samples that he brought as he was templating. We wanted a different design on the bar top than the main counters which was agreed upon before we signed the contract. I showed him a ********** sample and he said easy, I can do this. He made a sample of it and I did not like it. He also replied that the sample did not come out the way he expected. He said he could only do one more sample.For the main countertops, he said the feathering look I want can't be made with the style he does. We visited examples of 3 retail shops that he made the bar tops for.We decided that his style was not what we wanted and based on the samples, we were not happy. We do not want to proceed with this job with sunworks llc/************************* and he is not responding back.I tried calling and texting. In the end, the contractor, ************************* made some samples that he took back and won't give our $2,500 deposit back for the project that he never started.I would like my $2,500 deposit returned.
