    About a week after they cleaned my chimney, the chimney cap blew off. The owner of the Main Line Chimney met me at my house and said he would not reattach the cap since it is a custom cap, and he would need to replace it with a brand new one, which he said would cost at least $800. I was confused as to why he wouldn't just reattach the one I had. His response was that it wouldn't fit, and I asked if it doesn't fit, why haven't I had any issues over the 10 plus years I've owned the house? And the only time there was an issue, was when they removed it and were not able to recatch it correctly. He wouldn't even try reattaching the cap and he was firm that they only thing they would do is order me a new cap and then charge me to install it. I felt he was trying to swindle me into more work, and I asked him to leave my property. I had a local handy man reattach the ordinal cap and it took all of about 25 minutes from start to finish to get this done. I've waited over a year to see if I would have any issues with the original cap blowing off again. Since then, we've seen some significant windstorms and I've had zero issues with the original cap. It makes me angry when I run across dishonest people who try to take advantage of any situation. Because of this underhanded approached to business, I now question how good of a job they did on my chimney cleaning. Needless to say, I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.
