H333433343738373*3531H appears to conduct business in a very deceitful manner. I had previously used Jakes Mower H3137333*353439303*31H for such services. In summer of *0*4, I was away from the property for extended *********** wife had issues with our mower. She somehow contacted H333433343738373*3531H. I wasn't involved with this transaction at all (broken belt and some other itemspossibly un-needed). The mower was fixed and he was paid for those services. In October *0*4, once I had returned, the belt he installed broke again. My wife explained how H333433343738373*3531H told her that Jakes was out of business. Reluctantly I called H333433343738373*3531H. He told me identical story how **** no longer fixing mowers but doing ***** removal. We needed mower fixed so agreed for him to come out. Being skeptical, I did call **** and left voice message (his vm greeting certainly seemed to indicate that he was still fixing mowers but still uncertain-it was Saturday so didnt expect them to pick-up). H333433343738373*3531H came out and indicated I needed * spindles in addition to the belt. My wife requested new ************** came to $*,0*1.78 (including the $175 service call). A few days later Jakes returned my call asking who was saying he was out of business? Based on the tone of this phone call I asked them to guess and they said H333433343738373*3531H? They were right. **** then came out. Looking at my receipt he explained that $600 spindle charges were 3 times the amount that they should have been (he could get for under $*00 & still make an $80 profit). In fact he could get directly from mower mfg for $300. H333433343738373*3531H was basically charging * to 3 times more than he should - also recommending unneeded parts (per Jake * spindle replacements weren't needed - H333433343738373*3531H charging me $638 per spindle totaling ********) End of day **** came out/fixed mower for $*61 (Belt, Sharpen Blades, svc call) while H333433343738373*3531H had charged me $*0*1.78 (parts & $175 svc call fee) & additional would be due for installation. I requesting parts return even if re-stocking fee but he wouldn't do.Business Response

I called ****** rebel when the parts came in to go install he then said return them I said there are no returns or refunds he then got belligerent with me and hung up. A few days later he filed with his bank and lied to them saying he didnt use his card. The bank investigated and returned his money to him. I do not lie or deceive he got his money by lying to his bank when he filed with his bank I still have his parts here at the office unreturnable.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I can understand why there may have been confusion when ********** contacted ********. I did my very best to make sure that ***** understood the entire situation but it appears that my efforts were not successful. They required me to submit the claim via their on-line portal but of course only a few options to categorize the type of claim and no significant field to better explain. I even followed up on the phone with their customer service after filing the claim to insure they understood what had happened and that I DID authorize the charges to my credit card but was attempting to file the claim for other reasons for which I wasn't sure if they could assist me or not.So I guess i would apologize for any confusion regarding how ***** approached this with ******** but I certainly told them the truth to the best of my ability. At the end of the day, I did NOT get all of my money back from the bank as ******** indicated on their response (did receive a 100 courtesy credit for being their customer for so long).
So I will try now to fully communicate with the Better Business Bureau as to why I am pursuing this matter. As mentioned above, I fully authorized the charges on my credit card account and the receipt clearly indicated that there were no returns allowed. None of these facts are being disputed at this time. I am writing the BBB because I believe ************** to be running a company having questionable ethics and business practices.Specifically in the following 5 areas
#1-******** told my wife earlier in the year (and then again told me directly in October) that the the vendor I had been previously using (Jakes Mower Repair) was out of business . I realize this statement may be considered hearsay but I do have the return voice mail from Jakes Mower Repair where they are clearly asking me as to WHOM might have told me that they were out of business and that this couldn't be farther from the truth (Fixing mowers every day and busier than ever)
#2-Selling un-necessary parts to unsuspecting clients.Once again this statement could be considered subjective but the only proof I would have is that I got the mower running with really only a new belt. Please find the $ ****** invoice that Jakes charged me too install a new belt as well as my blades from last year that he had sharpened for me. After this one service visit from Jakes the mower was back in service and we were cutting grass once again without the 2 expensive spindles recommended by ********.
#3-Selling parts for prices extremely higher than I would consider reasonable / fair. Once again a subjective statement. I only have Jakes input on this but presume that with nominal research we could prove this to be true. **** had indicated that he could have ordered the 2 recommended spindles (not even needed) for roughly $ 200 (and still make a profit) as opposed to the $ 600 price tag from *******. **** claims that Bad Boy (mower manufacturer) would have sold me the spindles for $300. So as previously stated ************** charging 2 to 3 times the price that he should be charging.
#4-No warranty/replacement for the broken belt which he had replace only month's earlier? Typically, most places provide some type of warranty for parts that they install. Never mentioned only continued selling me other/un-needed parts.
#5-No returns - Although ************** receipt did indicate no returns I find it odd in todays day and age. Just about EVERYTHING purchased today can be returned even if a restocking fee is charged. I would understand if the parts were installed and/or used but in this case that are still sitting at ********* because i had Jakes Mower Repair to do the work for $****** as opposed to the $2,000 + price tag that it would have cost me to have ******** come out and finish the job.
There was also no yelling or harsh hang-up by me when ******** contacted me when the parts arrived. I simply asked him if the parts could be returned and when he said no I reached out to ***** credit card company to see if they could assist.
Hopefully this helps further clarify my position on why I reached out the BBB.

****** RebelBusiness Response

Number 1 those are not my prices on parts those are the prices that my suppliers charge out of my control
number 2 Jakes uses Amazon for his parts was what I was told from his x customers thats why there so cheap
2 your wife told me she hit a dirt mound thats what broke the belt no warranty also all the other mower repair shops dont give a warranty on parts or repairs we dont know what you do too your equipment after it was fixed
Number 3 you got a full refund and committed fraud on me and both banks by filing saying you didnt approve the transaction now Im stuck with parts that are non refundable or returnable my suppliers dont do returns or refunds on parts thats why I have it on my receipt.
number 4 I am not a liar or take advantage of anyone you are doing this out of anger and spite to try to ruin a business reputation not going to work.
thank you bbb sincerely Oneills mobile small engine repair

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am definitely not satisfied with the vendors response and will continue to respond to his response to further clarify my position with some more factual information. Prior statements made both both ***************** myself could be considered hearsay and part of a he-said she-said conversation. To this end I decided to attach some screen shots to this response to further explain why I continue to file this complaint against ***************** why I rebut some of ******** statments.
Attachment #1 - Web Search1 - Bad Boy 3 Pack Spindle - Summary .png
As can be seen with what was returned from my search is a list of many 3 PACK KITs typically including blades and other items as part of the kit with the highest one coming up on the page being $559.03 which if you ignore the blade and other items comes to like $200.00 which is what I had originally stated in my correspondence. Many of these were priced much less than that(could be junk I dont know) but presume the higher priced one might not be considered junk. Proceeding to the right with the search but not included was more of the same all containing spindles as part of a KIT and mathematically speaking NONE of the items exceeding $200 per spindle (remember that Oneills charged me $ ****** per spindle).
Attachment #2 - Web Search2 - Bad Boy 3 Pack Spindle - Highest Price Vendor .docx
This attachment picks the higher priced kit from ****** Lawn & Service ($559.03 for the kit which included 3 spindles and blades). The shot also contains their return and refund policy being 30 days with a 10 %restocking fee. That is very typical for every purchase Ive ever made for anything on the web and I would ask Oneills to share their Vendor and their return policy in his next correspondence so that we can uncover the truth about his statements that the vendor will not accept returns.Attachment #3 - Web Search3 - Bad Boy Mfg Site - Prices.png
This site deals exclusively with BAD BOY mower parts for which I have a Bad Boy Maverick Zero Turn Mower. As stated in my prior correspondence and displayed in this screen shot the price from this Bad Boy exclusive sit is $312.24 (remember that Oneills charged me $ ****** per spindle).
Attachment #4 - Web Search 4 - Bad Boy Mfg Site Return Policy.png
This shot simply displays the return policy for this Bad Boy Parts Exclusive dealer. 30 Days with 20 % restocking fee. Once again I would ask Oneills to share their Vendor and their return policy in his next correspondence so that we can uncover the truth about his statements that the vendor will not accept returns.Attachment #5 - Rebels Credit Card Transactions.png
This shot is to rebut Oneills statement that I received a full refund from my credit card company. As the shot shows all of the ******** transactions it is clear that the original authorized purchased was for $2,021.78. I approached the credit card company to investigate/dispute charged of $ ******** which was the price for everything other than Oneills $175.00 charge to come out to my house essentially being the charges for all of the parts. They temporarily credited my account but after review the receipt which indicated no refunds o returns cancelled the dispute and put the $******** back on my card for which I have since paid. They did authorize a $100.00 credit to me for being a ***** customer for as long as I had been.
So I guess this is my attempt to put some level of facts being my previous statements.( No lying).
I still stand on my original statements that Oneills isnt conducting business in an ethical fashion which is why I approached the BBB. Oneills doesnt seem to follow the age old statement that the customer is always right but rather what is printed on their invoice is always right.
I am not satisfied and would appreciate some type of financial reconciliation from ONeills.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Not sure what other information I can provide at this point and it appears that my only options are to either ACCEPT or DENY the Oneills response.I have choose to not accepting it because they really havent provided a response at all to any of my questions concerning their vendors pricing and return policies but rather keeping that information top-secret and thus further indicating that they have something to hide and are not being honest and transparent.
I thank the BBB for attaching those screen shots I provided with my prior response since I did experience technical difficulties accomplishing that with my prior response.
I am aware of Oneills business hours and may come and pick-up the parts soon and there will certainly be no problems with the pick-up regardless of whether it is me or someone else. This is the 1st time I have ever had issues with ANY vendor in my entire life and the 1st time Ive ever reached out to the BBB so it is not in my nature to complain however in this case I believe Ive been done a mis-justice and simply want to warn others.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I am aware of the No Return Policy included in ONeills most recent response to this complaint. My complaint involves much more than their unwillingness to return un-opened, un-used, un-needed and un-installed parts.
The complaint specifically surrounds ONeills unethical business practices including:
#1-Fixing things which are NOT in need of repair
#2-Charging 2 to 3 times the price that the cost of the parts (pocketing the difference) when there is already a profit built in when buying from reputable vendors.
I had previously provided internet searches attachments of typical costs for such parts (and typical vendor return policies) which are not aligned in the slightest with ONeills costs/policies. Oneills hasn't even made an attempt to share any factual documentation from their vendor to confirm the price that they paid for the parts.Once again, I brought this claim to the attention of the BBB since it appears relevant in what they strive to achieve as stated in their Mission Statement (include below and attached as an image)

Mr. O***** came to my residence in Sunday August 6 after i called him for a mobile repair of my tractor, which quit working during use. Mr. O***** charged $175 for a service call. He was at my house approximately 15 min and he told me I needed a new alternator that my alternator exploded and ruined my battery. The only test he performed was a voltage meter and jumped started my tractor. Once started the tractor ran fine. He kept saying it was going to quit but it never did. The suggested repair to replace the alternator was a costly repair, over $600 and since he didn’t have the part I would get recharged the service fee of $175 for him to come back out. He stressed how hard the part was to change and labor could be extensive. I had concerns over the testing that was performed and the costs, so I informed Mr. O***** I needed to give this some thought and get back to him. I contacted the Lawn and Tractor supplier where ai purchased my tractor the next morning . They i formed me that tractors alternator consisted over several magnetics that spun sending a voltage to the regulator. If it had in fact exploded as Mr. O***** had stated the magnetics would have dislodged causing the tractor to seize completely and not run. Since the tractor was indeed running after being jumped this explosion of the alternator was not possible. They also informed that the issue seemed to be with a inexpensive part $18 that could be installed in minutes. The battery was tested that Mr.O***** said was damaged and it was determined the battery held a charge. I feel Mr. O***** was attempting to charge me for expensive work that was not needed. I also feel he scams people with charging two services fees since he almost always needs a return visit as he carries limited parts. The service fee does not count towards completing the repair. I am requesting my service fee back for the attempt to just deceive me into a costly repair for a simple issue that was not difficult to diagnoseBusiness Response

This complaint is a lie and based on extortion and blackmail the money she paid was the service call to come out to the house non refundable look on the bottom of your receipt. I said the alternator is bad and I don’t have one we would have to order one also the alternator does not spin it is under the flywheel bolted down and there are 4 screws that hold it in place and a wire attaches to the stater then gets fed back to the battery to recharge it also it is not 175 to come back it is 100 to return back to the house for the first hour everyone knows this also there is a police report and police are involved in this for blackmail and extortion so to fix this only was like 200 extra dollars my worker was with me and he is a witness. **** did not get the mower looked at by the other shop that said it was the stater she is claiming to be bad and not the alternator she called them and described it over the phone to them and they did not have there hands on it to diagnose the problem.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This business continues to lie. I am mot trying to extort anything from anyone. I specifically asked if i needed to pay another $175 service fee and the coworker kept saying yes plus additional labor fees. The $200 was the cost of the part alone. Add in the $175 additional service fee plus labor plus the original $175 and the repair proposed was near $175. The business is correct I only spoke to the tractor supply over the phone. Bottom line is IF the alternator exploded as Mr. O*****l had started and ruined my battery the tractor could have seized up and not run. Why would Mr. O***** not suggest trying to replace the $18 regulator that had minimal labor first? How could my battery be bad when I have started the tractor several times since with no issue? The alternator does bolt down but it consists of several magnets that do in fact spin. If it exploded these magnets would have come out of the alternator causing the tractor to seize. Mr O***** simply went for the high cost repair without proper diagnostics . I am not aware of any police report and if one was filed it was after I informed the business I was contacting the BBB. It was the businesses attempt to cover up what he attempted to do. How could an experiences technician not look towards the common issue that costs far less to repair?

Keep lying too the better buissness bureau first of all tractor supply is a box store not a mower repair shop all they do is sell a few mowers so the person that you talked to was probably a teenager second if the alternator blows or stops working it will not seize a engine even the cops laughed on that one I have been fixing equipment for 10 years and have over 1000 regulars a year I’m a professional mechanic and again the alternator does not spin what spins is the fly wheel that has a magnetic component on it that spins around to make what is called ignition coil work so you have spark your problem is the alternator that recharges the battery.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I do not want to get into a back and forth with a business who was clearly out to state I needed an expensive repair that was not needed. I didn’t talk to Tractor Supply i talked to the business I purchased the tractor from. The bottom line is my alternator is not bad! I feel Mr. O***** attempted to take advantage a female thinking I would not understand the mechanically working of a tractor. I just do not want to see anyone else taken advantage of by Mr. O*****. He clearly stated the new alternator would be over $200 plus, an additional $175 service call and $100 for each additional hour. With the original $175, thats close to a $600 repair, IF it only took him an hour to install, that was not needed at all. Why would a reputable experienced technician go straight to replacing the most expensive part when the more common issue is the regulator other than attempting to scam the customer?
