Abeloff Nissan replaced my transmission on 4/15/21 - (111,689 miles) - $4,947.77 On 8/20/21 - I told them that transmission was not shifting properly (119,796 miles) I explained the same problem every time I went in for service 4-6 additional times). Instead of investigating any problem with the transmission, on Nov. 14, (146,991 miles) they informed me I needed a new Transfer Case (attached to Transmission). - $4,282.36. The Transfer Case . The invoice states, it's a "junkyard" replacement. On 11/29/22, that Transfer Case failed. They had to rebuild the "junkyard" Transfer Case. The transmission they installed continued to get worse to where I was concerned it was going to have a failure while driving. On 11/03/2024, I had one of their technicians do a test drive with me and he noticed right away that the problem is caused by the torque converter INSIDE the transmission. So from April 2021 to November 2023 after complaining on numerous occasions about the problem, they finally confirmed the problem was the torque converter inside of the transmission they installed but because I now have exceeded the mileage warranty, they are refusing to replace the problematic parts and telling me I need to pay them another $4,000 to replace their transmission. I have spent close to $20,000 with Abeloff Nissan in less than 2 years on expensive parts they said I needed, only to have them put defective parts on as replacements. Their response to the transmission problem was to have me replace the Transfer Case at $4,000, which also failed. I feel they took advantage of me perhaps because of my age or thinking I was an open checkbook. I had no other choice but to pay them as I can't afford to buy a newer vehicle. I agreed to these services feeling that by going through a dealership I would get quality service using quality parts.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/31/2024

This is in response to a claim filed against us by ******* ******* – ID ********.  *** *******’s 2014 Nissan ****** had a transmission replaced by us in April 2021 when the vehicle had 111,690 miles on it.  The vehicle unfortunately needs another transmission and as of in December of 2023 the vehicle had 169,632 miles on it.  Unfortunately, there isn’t any warranty coverage available on his vehicle or the transmission due to the age and mileage that has been put on the vehicle since the transmission was originally replaced in 2021.

We’ve provided a price quote to replace the transmission essentially at our cost as a show of goodwill and have also recommended to *** ******* that he look to replace the vehicle due to the age and mileage on it.  If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out.
