      Hello I am writing to ask you to make notifications when they are out of an ingredient and then still charge you for it. I asked the employee about this and they said they were told they were not allowed to notify public when they are out of something. I got an ice cream with my hubby and when they were done dispensing the ice cream they said they were out of whipped cream and that they weren’t allowed to notify the public but I had already paid to have whipped cream on my ice cream.

      Unfortunately we do run out items on the touch screen from time to time, but we try to post that on the screen when we are out of something. The whipped topping was only for a day that I am aware of, and I think it was on a Sunday, so that item being out of stock may have been missed.

      We NEVER tell our employees NOT to communicate that we are out of something. That is not normal policy at Lykens Market

      I have personally gone over this with all the employees at Lykens Market to make sure we notify when we are out of something. Not sure how it was communicated that we "do NOT notify the public". That will NOT happen again at our place of business.

      I am thinking that the added cost was for whipped topping, it is a 15 cent extra charge, my employee should have already offered a refund for the the 15 cents plus tax when they told the customer we were out of whipped topping.

      If the whipped topping was not refunded, I would gladly send a gift card for the 15 cents, maybe the person got two? for 30 cents plus tax.
