    I went to have my two rear tires with slow leaks looked at. I asked that they check for nails and if there were no nails, to then break the rear tires off of the alloy wheels and to sand the rims down. Often times corrosion causes slow leaks. And to also replace possibly bad valve stems. I was told that the two rear tires had dangerous "tread separation". Even though the tread was like new, they said this was a dangerous condition. Also they said the front tires, also with excellent tread, were VERY close to having "tread separation". So I bit the bullet and decided, for safety sake, to have all four tires swapped out. I opted to keep the old tires for emergency use only! Well when I off loaded the old tires from my trunk, of the two "bad" tires, only ONE showed any signs of the dreaded "tread separation". The other rear tire looked totally fine. And the front tires looked great also! I can't help but think I was sold "a bill of goods" regarding the condition of my tires. But I guess I can rest easy knowing I have four new tires?
