I reached out to them to discuss our options for a small cabin build. After I had contacted them, I realized the president of the company had owned our piece of property years back that we plan to build on. After discovering that, I did not have a good feeling about the conversation we were about to have. They got back to me within a couple of hours. Rick new from the start, as I included in my message, we are interested in a small full-time residence. We would have a full basement and above that the main first floor with a small loft overlooking. From the beginning he could have said they weren't interested in this project because it was small. He kept rambling like we would for some reason change our minds on the size. When I reiterated we wanted the 20x30, he started talking down to me and said there would barely be any room to work in there as they build. There were other points in our comverstaion that he said out of line stuff. Bottom line is if they can't make a fortune off you, they don't want your business. All the other companies we had talked to never mentioned once that size was an issue. I was under the impression that a custom builder was in business to meet the needs and wants of clients, but apparently that is not always the case.
