At the end of February 2022 I consigned 3 garbage bags of full womens clothes and accessories to this shop. We took time going through all items with the lady behind the counter to make sure they were things that were name brand, on season, and would likely sell. She posted one of my purses to ******** a month later and shortly after, when ppl inquired, she commented it was already sold. When I did not receive communication on my money by ****, I stopped by to inquire. Although none of my clothes were still out for sale, the woman behind the counter told me they had not sold anything of mine and it was likely donated. When I pressed her about the purse that I saw was sold, designer leather jacket, designer shoes, etc, she said that her invoices were backlogged from before May and she may have some money for me once she gets caught up. It has been almost a year now, she still claims she has no money for me but is not caught up, and the business phone number is disconnected. I also see reviews all over **** claiming the same experience. Finally, the only tracking she gave me for the initial transaction was the number **. I would like help stopping this woman from scamming people. Thank you for your time.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/17/2023

Hello, I am writing in response to the complaint made by the person mentioned above.  This person did bring things in for consignment at my shop. At this point, as it's been about a year,I have no idea how much she brought.  She brought no list of what was consigned. The purse that she is mentioning probably sold.
We do not contact people to come in for the money. When a contract is signed and items are brought in, people are told the expectation that they will either come in, call or stop by.  As for how much of her stuff was still in the store, she had no idea because the store is so large there is no way for her to go through every item and look for her number that she was assigned when she brought things in to consign.  Since it was Feb anything that was clothing or shoes that was brought in would have been winter and donated to a non profit when the season was over.  Spring items are usually put out in late March or early April.  We are actually putting out a little bit of spring right now because the weather is so warm.
Usually my mother or myself are behind the counter and cannot recall speaking to her.  The phone is working, but I do not have voicemail because I just don't have the time to return all the calls I receive when the shop is not open.
There is one review on **** of a dissatisfied client but everyone has a person that *** not like the way businesses operate.  The person there brought in items that she thought were worth more than they were.  I can only sell what a person is willing to buy and for the price they are willing to pay.  Sometimes we run sales and things are sold at a lower price.
It is true that sometimes it *** take me a bit longer than usual to finish the books sometimes but I am also a nurse and so this is not my only commitment.  My shop is not a scam. We donate locally to groups. fire victims, and others in need.  The ***or asks for my help several times a year and I help whenever I am able.
. This person does have money on her account,  so I can mail it to her.  She did not sign the consignment agreement when she came into the shop.  I will attach a copy of her consignment log to this email and a few other items that *** be helpful. I really do not wish for her to come into my shop again so i will mail the payment to her.
