I had a sewer leak. Family came over to fix it. They did a cheap way that didnt work. Couldnt commit at that time to fully fix. I stupidly thought well a plumber could have it done in no time. Stewards plumbing came. He did the exact same thing that had already been done. Over charged for parts. He knew the bell/elbow was cracked. Supposedly snaked my line for a blockage. On the third day he shows up to scam more money out of me and I kicked him out. **** was $867. For nothing. My BIL came over an hour later and had it fixed in 2.5hrs. Thats with snaking the block in the line. What exactly did this guy do for 5.5 hrs! Then stewards says hes not really a plumber and I might have to get a big sewer company come in. Im on a fixed income. So either this guy shouldnt be a plumber or he purposefully ripped me off! I want a MAJOR billing adjustment and his business needs looking into.

I am rejecting this response because:
The business did a whole lot of lying in their response. I have cameras in and around my home. The first try did not make the issue worse. He did not spend hours chipping up the concrete. If he thought the first attempt was worse why did he do the same thing? All he had to do was get the bad piece out and replace it. I absolutely told him to get the f*** out of my house. He wasnt invited in. He just took it upon himself to come in to rip me off some more. He said himself he was going to finally fix the actual issue. He didnt need to cut at the bottom. He needed to get that piece out. It did only take them two and a half hours to fix the actual problem. I have cameras. I have no problem paying a bill. I do have a problem with someone purposely inflating a bill to take advantage of a single female. He charged me for a 10ft piece of pvc. Theres maybe 3ft. The blockage was in my yard. Maybe 30ft. When he was done on the second day it leaked just as bad as it did from the beginning. Ive had a check here for what I feel is a reasonable amount for what he did. Obviously he thinks hes going to not only scam me but try to intimidate me into paying his overly inflated bill. Also I told him I was sick of his s*** and to leave his ******** bill. He also slammed the bilco doors. So he is more than welcome to take legal action. Did he snake 75 ft or 65 ft? They only snaked 55ft and fixed the problem. He looked embarrassed when he was telling me there was a blockage still. If he didnt know what he was doing he should have said I cant help you. Instead he played me for an easy mark.

    Regards,

As stated in original complaint, I was over charged for parts. I was also told work was needed that wasnt needed. Work was not done in a timely manner. I had agreed to a piece of PVC pipe to replace a cast iron section. He kept telling me he needed to cut the top of the cast iron  pipe. He did not. He made work to buy an over inflated priced saw blade. He didnt snake the pipe nor did he ever say it would back up again.  I had made the mistake of saying dont go over $1500 thats my credit limit. He said it would possibly be $500+. He said that along with he would have to tear up huge section of my basement floor. Which wasnt what he did. He left the first day saying he had a $600+ bill in his back pocket for me to bad it wasnt fixed. He came the next day plugged up the pipe with approximately $35 of putty. Left came back found it still leaked. Left again. Came back uninvited the next day. To which yes I absolutely quacked him out. I had M&D construction over after he left that second day and he told me why did he cut the pipe? You didnt need any of that work done. He did the same thing that was already done. With exception of the bell on bottom. M&D said hed come ove4 and fix it the next day. I actually thought that was who was in my basement the third day. What was done that was exactly what stewards di$ took about an hour for M&D to do. Then it only took M&D 2.5 hrs to actually fix the problem. So when I got stewards bill from $609+ to $800+ with $35 of putty and less than 1/2 hr work. It jumped over$200 yet he says he didnt charge for a tool he had to buy? I paid for saws that werent needed, work not needed and over 10ft of PVC to which 3ft was used. I did ask a question about sewer line when I hav3 my half bath put in. Never was it said hed be the one doing it. Question was does the line get tied in somewhere else instead of added to what I have. The toilet then would be after my kitchen. I wouldnt have any other work from him after repeatedly saying he wasnt a plumber and never wanted to be a plumber. I have cameras. ******* saying the work he did couldnt be done in an hour is false. Stewards new that what he was doing wouldnt work. It had already been done. He said what had been done before him made the leak worse. I dont understand why hed say this because the problem was the same. He wasnt there how did he come up with this? I paid for what I feel is a reasonable amount. I also still believe he shouldnt have a plumbers license. So since he has lied repeatedly he is more than welcome to take legal action. I think more people need to know how he operates.
