    Horrible landlords, won't respond to calls or emails if you don't threaten them.

    I have never in my life came across a company that lacks awareness and responsibility. I was a tenant at a location they managed and they advised us to place maintenance on the portal. In the following weeks I’ve tried calling them on the number provided on their website to contact a rep about the maintenance need. It was so bad that I contacted the FHC about placing rent in escrow because they never responded to our calls/emails. Legally had to notify them following my notification to FHC and bam first response in months, this was only due to my claim to place future rent payments in escrow. The apartment has now been deemed unlivable. They are not acknowledging the fact that our bathroom (1 bath apt) is now infested with mold and sewage water has caved in. In an attempt to avoid court I sent multiple forms of communication to receive the upfront payments I’ve made such as security deposit/ last months rent. PA law gives the landlord/company 30 following key return so I contacted them about best way to return keys and they told me “destroy them” on their recorded line. Flabbergasted by their advice I did not follow and had them sent certified mail to the address listed in my lease. I followed up with email and phone calls only to be ignored, yet they posted the rent for upcoming month. I reviewed PA state laws that states landlords cannot charge rent for inhabitable locations. Their lack of professionalism and responsibility has been a nightmare. They refuse to return my calls and or emails. The neglected not only the property they oversee but also their tenants. Speaking with my neighbors I was not the only one. I hope License and Inspection can follow with their investigation and order them to be compliant moving forward. I hope to see them change their methodology of running a business and take care of their property and tenants with the utmost respect.
