    My Name is ******* ******, I'm at *** ***** **** ***** ********** ** *****, my phone number is ************. I am filing a complaint against SK Diesel Service at **** ******
************ ** *****, phone number is ************, I took my truck there around the end of  August-beginning of September to get a new fuel system because my fuel pump went out on  the truck, he fixed it for around $11,600, afterwards the check engine light came on and said high fuel rail pressure, I told him and he said it would need tuned for the new fuel system, I took it there around September 15th and it cost $530, then he tells me he's writing it off on the receipt as a brake job because doing the tune was illegal, after I left his shop the check engine light came back on for the same code, I took it back in October because the battery was going dead  from something because they had to remove the cab to do the work, when they put a battery in it they didn't have it strapped in and something poked a hole in it, after it being there soo many times I was going to say forget it, but the check engine light has been in since they initially fixed it, and for the past 3 months the fuel filter makes a crunching noise non stop, the truck will randomly go into limp mode and go from 50 mph to 5 mph in about 5 seconds, and it will also just randomly go and shut off and you have to go bleed the system and spray a shot of starting fluid in the truck for it to start, after paying a "professional company " over 12 thousand dollars the problem should have been fixed the right way the first time, I shouldn't have had to pay extra money for something that never fixed the truck, and after it being there soo many times the truck has the same problems it did when I picked it up from him when they did they replaced the fuel system, the problems keep getting worse and worse, it went into limp mode 5 times a couple days ago plus it shut off once and wouldn't start when I came out of a store all in one day

    Business Response

    Response to claim ID
    ********

In response to the claim made by this customer; firstly,
there is a lot of mis-information in his explanation that is far from the
    truth.
After the initial repair, the customers truck was here for
almost all self induced issues besides a check engine light, which is most
likely a part issue, or electrical fault.
To start, his truck was towed in here in August for a bad
fuel system. This is an extremely in depth, long hour, expensive parts job to
complete. GM dealers are known to charge up to double what we do to replace the
entire diesel fuel injection system. The kit installed was all at the customers
request. A fuel lift pump was also installed at the time for the health of the
fuel injection system. His total bill reflected a very large job that most
places don’t want to take on. The price he posted included the entire fuel
system, a cp3 conversion kit, fass fuel lift pump, diesel fuel, and tax. We
    perform these regularly without issue.

The truck; the truck is a 2013 with 122,xxx miles when it
was here. It is used as a work truck as was by no means clean and tidy under
the hood. A lot can happen to a vehicle that we know nothing about before it
comes in. After the job was completed, the batteries had to be charged multiple
times before it had enough juice to fire up. The truck was test driven multiple
times and all was good. He picked it up. Later I was made aware of a check
engine light that came on. I had him come up and addressed it as per what the
code pointed at. During my test drive it was fine. 2 and a half weeks later I
received phone calls and bad reviews that he was broken down on a Saturday night.
The breakdown was due to him running his truck out of fuel on the highway. On
the phone on Sunday morning I asked him, “does you fuel gauge say the truck is
empty”, he implied, “yes, but the truck said it had only went xxx miles and it
should get xxx to the tank”. He couldn’t get the fuel system primed so he towed
it up, we put fuel in it, primed it, test drove and gave it back. I charged $50
for the fuel put in and no labor. RUNNING OUT OF FUEL IS NOT OUR FAULT.

Then the calls came in about the batteries dying overnight.
I told him he should start by replacing the batteries as they were extremely
weak when the truck was here from the beginning, and it is starting to get
colder out. Batteries loose cold cranking amps when it is colder. He argued
about this, and only replaced 1 of the 2 batteries. The calls continued to come
in about it dying, when he brought the truck in we saw he only replaced 1
battery. We had the other battery tested and it failed miserably. We replaced
that battery and tested the system for voltage draws. He had a strobe light
controller in the truck that if plugged in was causing a draw, we unplugged it
and let the truck sit for a week and it started right back up. He picked it up.
I charged the cost of the battery and a half hour of labor. This was well below
what it took us. AGAIN, OLD WEAK BATTERIES ARE NOT IN MY CONTROL! I INSTRUCTED
    TO REPLACE, HE DID NOT!

Since then I have not heard anything from him, this now is
the first time I am hearing anything about something poking a hole in a battery
(this would take a lot of force and not common), as well as the first time I am
hearing about more codes and limp modes. Customers cant expect me to know about
issues if they don’t at least call.
Most importantly, the issues he is having now can very well
be something completely different going on with the truck. A simple code reader
to tell me what codes come up can go a long way.

He gets frustrated and wants to blame the shop. That is what
he told me when he ran it out of fuel. It was late, he was on the highway, and
had a bad day. Even after nasty messages I still was open arms to help him out
and charged the cost of the battery and a half hour labor to install it and
spend the time to check for amp draws.

    But to clarify;
-We repaired the major job first
-We went after a check engine light the same way any other
shop that does this kind of work would
-We recommended changing both batteries as we knew they were
weak, but he didn’t do that which is the only reason there were still battery
    issues.
-The truck does in fact run, the parts we installed are on
the vehicle and are tight, they haven’t fallen off and are indeed installed
correctly or it wouldn’t run. We can’t control manufacturing of the product
itself, if in fact there is an issue with a part I cant do anything without
    knowing about it.

I strive to go far and wide to take care of everyone, and
again, even after being bashed through voicemail and a ****** review for
HIMSELF running out of diesel, I still helped. I could have walked away at that
point. Now I am hearing from multiple people that he is bashing us, yet I have
not gotten a phone call. He admits of driving the truck for months now with issues.
This cant be good for the truck. But blaming us, and not reaching out when
problems are happening won’t resolve anything.

I am sorry you are frustrated, but all of you’re
frustrations cannot be taken out on us
