      Date: 03/21/2023

      3/10/23
      Dear *** *******,

Sadly, this is a complaint that should never have been submitted to you. *** ***** is waiting for a part to come in as are we. His stove was fully operable at his last visit, which was on January 10, 2023, and although he is waiting for a part it was explained to him that his stove is fully operable, and this part was not contingent to him and use of his stove.

According to our records *** ***** has not contacted Alaska Company by phone since 12/14/2022.  He has our service technician’s cell phone and *** ***** has not contacted him since his last visit on 1/10/2023. *** ***** has called us various times in the past and unless something has changed, *** ***** has all the phone numbers for each of our locations listed below.

While we understand that many people do not like to answer their phones today because of the large quantity of spam calls, *** ***** still refuses to recognize our phone numbers and will not take any calls. This he has been doing since 2021. He has also sent an email to our general contact information in 2021 and then again reached out in an email for service in 2022. If we are unable to answer our phone, and the customer leaves a message their call is returned. A message is left if the customer does not answer. We also have on record that no matter how many times we return *** *****’s calls, he does not answer his phone. I once had to mail a letter to his home and had to ask him to contact us regarding an appointment that we had scheduled, because he did not call us back to confirm. I hope you can understand that this letter comes as a bit of a surprise because *** ***** has not had any problems contacting us in the past and if he for some reason didn’t reach us by phone, he has the email information for correspondence. If he lost the email information and wishes to contact us by email, he can contact us with the general contact details on our website as he has done in the past.

It has also been explained to ******** by our service technician that we will call him once we receive the part, and then schedule an appointment. *** ***** has had service by us in the past and he has needed other parts which the same protocol was followed. He knows we will reach out to him and if he doesn’t answer or return the call, we will send him an email or a letter. *** ***** has not once tried to contact Alaska Company since our last service visit in January, nor has he left any messages.

In order to resolve this false complaint once we receive the part, we will attempt to contact *** ***** and schedule an appointment. For the record, as of today this part is set to ship on 3/16/2023. Unfortunately, the ship date can be subject to change. If this does ship on 3/16/2023 we will receive it within 5 -10 business days. If not, we will continue to wait and contact him as soon as we receive it. We do not schedule appointments in advance due to the unpredictability of receipt.

Update on shipping: As of 3/16/2023, the part shipped from the manufacturer, and we should receive in 5 – 10 business days.

I must add that this whole ordeal with this false complaint is rather upsetting. I suppose that anyone at any time can complain and seek to tarnish or simply complain of an unfounded threat against any business today. It is very unsettling and disturbing.

Please also note that I want my name to be withheld from any publication on your behalf. I think that is rather unfair that the consumer who filed a false complaint is protected. I do not want my name listed under any circumstances. This whole situation is unfair. I also request that this letter be withheld from any publication. It is unfair that a business is held responsible for someone’s false claims.

      Thank you,
      **** **********
      Representative of Alaska Company Inc.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.   I requested by phone that this complaint be withdrawn.
I am 75nyears old and sometimes get mixed up.  They are waiting for a part.   They are correct.

      Regards,
