I called to be sure that they were in network for **** ***. Informed me they were. Appointment was 10/18/22. Meanwhile I called our previous dentist, Dr. ****************, and requested that our X-rays from 4/18/22 be sent to Dr. ********************* At appt. were informed our X-rays had not arrived. Gave them our insurance cards. Not told when we arrived that they were not in network. We were never told they were not in network. Issues are:1. They took X-rays and never asked if we wanted them taken 2. After Oral Eval and Prophoyaxis the dentist informed us of work that should be done. Never said if it was necessary work or cosmetic work. Never asked if we wanted work performed. The office gave ****** two forms, one for an oral surgeon to have two teeth extracted and one for an endodontist to have 3 root canals performed. They proceeded to call those offices and had those professionals call ****** to make the appointments. We were both to receive a treatment plan. Never received that. When we checked out and wanted to pay our copay they said that they would send us a bill. Called 2 days later and asked for an estimate on the work to be performed by Dr. ********************* Said they could not tell me before the other work was performed 3. Received a statement from United Concordia in January 2023. Then a statement from **** *** at the beginning of February. Received a statement #****** postmarked 2/21/22 from Dr. ******************** for $840 because they were not in network with **** ***. Why send bill to insurance companies if not in network?4.. Called on 2/15/23 and spoke with office manager. Explained that there must have been a misunderstanding about the insurance. I asked if they would compromise on the bill because they had told me they were in network with **** ***. Response was that they told me they were not in network. Said they performed the work and we had to pay the full amount 5. We are seniors on a fixed income and would have never used an out of network dentist
