It was also my experience that the person in charge of this organization is extremely condescending. She takes great effort to remain anonymous yet expects you to turn over all your personal information for judgement. The amount of money being asked for a senior dog makes you wonder what kind a scheme is being run here. These dogs either need a home or they dont. Picking them up at rural shelter then selling them for over $500 is not charity. Its a moral abomination.

The statements by ********************************* are false. First, he was not able to pass our adoption screening. It is unfortunate that being denied adoption, caused him to make false statements. Senior Hearts Rescue & Renewal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. When we rescue a dog, whether its from a shelter or their prior home, we take full legal ownership of a dog. We invest approximately $1500 into the medical & surgical care of each dog we rescue. Our dogs get senior bloodwork, vaccinations, microchip, mass removals, alterations, treatment for urine, skin, and ear infections, dental surgeries, diagnosis and management of chronic diseases and more. We do not place our dogs for adoption until they are medically and emotionally ready. Our adoption fee is $295. If ********************** was able to do the math, that means that each dog we rescue, invest into their repairing their medical neglect, and adopt to approved adopters, we lose $1205.Considering he is supposedly a veterinarian, it is shameful that he would disparage a reputable, licensed, organization whose proven work for senior dogs in the last 8 years has resulted in over 975 dogs lives saves and over 830 senior dogs placed into high quality furever homes.

I was honestly hoping we could have an ongoing relationship with this organization, as we are advocates of adopting senior dogs. Went through the entire application process: interview, reference check, virtual home check. We passed with flying colors. We were offered the opportunity to meet and potentially adopt. Before we scheduled the meet, I informed ****** that we were also meeting another dog that day and would not be making a decision until we met both and had a chance to discuss at home. She went ahead with scheduling the meet, and I thought we were all on the same page. We met the dog in a public setting. After discussing at home, through no fault of the dog, we decided he was not the right fit for us (neither was the other dog we met just for clarity). I texted her the following morning to tell her. She never asked why and didn't bother to respond to me at all. She went on to write a long social media post on the business page about our application process and completely blast us (without identifying us by name) for not adopting the dog, saying that I had already made up my mind before the meet and that we adopted another dog, wasting their time, money, and resources. She insinuated in the post that we had informed them of meeting another dog when we got to the meet, not before scheduling. None of that was true, but I guess that doesn't get you bumps and sympathy on social media. I appreciate the work this organization does for seniors but this experience was passive aggressive, judgmental, and completely unprofessional.

This is an absurd review. These people went through our adoption screening process then met the dog that they claimed they wanted to adopt. They chose to not adopt our dog, despite our dog's presentation being exactly as they were told in advance of the meeting. We do not know why they chose to not adopt him nor do we care why. Possibly they decided they don't want an older dog or she really isn't ready to get a dog. She had never owned a dog all her life. Regardless, based on her texting and telling us she didn't want to adopt the dog of ours that she met, we assumed the engagement with this couple was ended. Why she wrote a BBB review after she chose to not adopt a great dog from us is quite strange. We have no idea why she wrote this BBB review attacking our use of social media to market our dogs. We've been doing it for 7 years! With zero proof or facts, she claims a social media post was directed at her. The post she refers to does not mention her's or her husband's name. However her husband chose to put a slanderous comment on the post. We have not responded to his rude comment nor have we removed it. It's ludicrous to think that people who willingly chose to not adopt one of our dogs, are now attacking our organization with slanderous statements and unverified information. As a 501(c)(3) all volunteer organization, we don't recall there are any rules as to how we choose to market our animals for adoption on social media. We've been in operation for over 7 years and have helped over 900 senior dogs. We have over ****** ******** followers. But this is a first that some unbridled person attacks our organization because she doesn't like the photo we posted of our dog or the fact that we use social media to market our dogs. Our suggestion for the her would be to unfollow all of our social media pages. Based on this ridiculous review she wrote, we would not ever place a dog with them. Our dogs deserve stable situations with families that truly see the benefit of adopting a senior dog.
