    Called yesterday 12-18 at 9am for my 9 year old son's prescription. I was told by Anna that they had to be ordered and they would be in the next day 12-19 between 12pm and 1pm. I then called on 12-19 the next day at about 1:30pm. I was told by another technician that the meds arrived and that they would be filling them and getting them ready. My husband went down at 4pm to pick them up, only to be told that those meds are on back order!!!!!!!!!!! I called also right after that at about 4:15pm and spoke to the pharmacist and she told me that they are on back order and they knew this on 12-18!!!! I told her that I should've been told this information on 12-18 so that I could go to another pharmacy and she said, "Oh I was gonna call you today and let you know." It was after FOUR O'CLOCK!!!!!! My son had 1 pill left which was for 12-19! He was out! This place needs sued and I am filing a complaint with the attorney general's office. I've had nothing but issues with this Bridgeville Giant Eagle Pharmacy. This isn't the first time I've had issues!

    This is a follow up letter in response to a patient's concern expressed on 12/19/2023 regarding a recent pharmacy interaction. We at Giant Eagle strive to provide best in class customer service to all patients. 

    Regarding the patient's concern that a family member of Ms. ****** was not able to receive a medication from the pharmacy, the prescription received from the provider on 12/18/2023 at 9:16am was not in stock. This is the same medication that was previously dispensed the month prior. An order for the medication was placed to the wholesaler that same day. On 12/19/2023, the pharmacy was notified by the wholesaler that the order was unable to be fulfilled due to the fact that the medication was on backorder. The issue of miscommunication and lack of communication to the patient's family has been reviewed with the pharmacy team.
