My cousin was buried in 2023 and the day we arrived, they forgot and nothing was prepared, so I asked them to bury her, in the process they said they would put flowers on her grave for the entire year and make sure her plaque was engraved that was also paid for, 14 months later none of these things happened. So a memorial park takes your money and delivers no service.

It has come to my attention that LaFayette Memorial Park has implemented a fee of $499 for overseeing a marker if it is not ordered through them directly. Regrettably, this charge was not disclosed to my step-father at the time of payment, nor is it outlined in any of the documentation or receipts provided. Upon inquiry, the funeral home indicates this as a new policy, while the cemetery's management denies such a change. This discrepancy is concerning, particularly considering our long-standing history with the cemetery and the absence of any prior occurrence of such charges. It appears that the new management has instituted this as their policy, which raises questions about transparency and fairness in their operations. This situation raises ethical concerns, as it feels akin to price gouging vulnerable individuals during a sensitive time. I am keen to understand how such practices are permissible and what recourse may be available to address this issue. My father's name is ***********************, and my mother, who passed away on July 25, 2023 was ***************************.

      to ******, me

      Hello *****,

I hope this email finds you well.

Enclosed, you'll find a letter penned by my father, along with his contact information, for your reference.

Additionally, we've included the invoice from the monument/funeral home. Upon review, you'll notice that there are no associated fees listed beside the *** (Lafayette Memorial Park) item.

To ensure clarity, I've requested my father to scan the certificate from *** confirming full payment, including the opening of the ******.

Regarding an unexpected charge mentioned by the funeral home, it appears this is to be addressed directly to ***. After reaching out to them, my father was informed that while this fee has been customary, it's the first instance we've encountered it. Interestingly, the funeral home also acknowledged this as a recent development.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Warm regards,
      ********

This is to report that Lafayette Memorial Park/CMS Brokers owes the family of ****** and ********************* money for a pre paid headstone that was stolen;never recovered and never replaced. Since December 28, have been in contact with two employees who have stated the refund is coming but have not received the refund to date. Have made several calls and emails, the last call March 19th and promise refund was approved and being mailed. Won't even tell us the amount cost of headstone. Getting the run around from this company. The cemeteries has changed hands so many times and record keeping is very poor. Want to resolve this issue
