1 star"In real estate, "as is" means a property is being sold in its current condition, with the buyer accepting it with all its known and unknown defects. The seller is not obligated to make any repairs or improvements before the sale, and the buyer is responsible for any necessary repairs or issues after the purchase. "In ??April 2025 I entered an agreement with Fifth Avenue Property Group via ***** ****** to sell my father's home? for a net to me of $295,000?, with the understanding that the property was being sold 'as is'. ? I was soon told that we had a buyer and a 6/2 closing date. The buyer wanted an inspection, but I was repeatedly assured that everyone knew that it was just for information only since the property was being sold 'as is'.As 6/2 approached, I heard nothing from ***** or his associates. I had reached out to them several times in the days before via email, voicemail and text and got zero replies. I finally received a call from ***** in the late afternoon of 5/29. ***** sheepishly explained that there had been a mixup in the communication and that the buyer had the closing scheduled for 6/20. ***** mentioned several times about how he had trusted his project manager **** to handle things, implying that apparently this didn't happen. Ok. No big deal I guess. This wasn't the first time the communication had been lacking between us in this process, and I chose to move forward. But wait...there's more. ***** went on to explain that they had negotiated to credit the buyer $9300 for both a radon mitigation system and roof repairs - two items that apparently had turned up in the inspection of the 'as is' property. I was told at this point that my proceeds from the sale would drop to $290,200, and that Fifth Avenue wasn't making any money on the transaction. This was both a violation of our agreement to sell the home 'as is', as well as a very poor example of how to communicate. I cannot recommend Fifth Avenue Property Group.Review fromGerald J
