My tires, shoes, and subsequently car mats, were damaged by wet tar while make a donation at Goodwill on Banksville Rd, a property that Tusk Development manages. I called to report the issue on 9/22/23 and Blake advised he was sending a manager to the property to make sure no one else incurs damages, that the company doing the resurfacing wasn't supposed to open it to the public until it was dry. He advised he would follow up with the company on how we could address my damages and he would call me back. Days later after receiving no call, I placed a follow up call on 09/27/23 and spoke to JIm who told me there was nothing he could do, sue him, and hung up on me. The level of unprofessionalism was insulting. I placed another follow up call kindly asking for a return call to discuss the matter but did not receive one. The role of a property manager is to address and remediate issues, not dismiss them. While I understand that the tar will wear off of the tires, my brand new shoes were damaged and subsequently damaged by car mats and I had to dispose of both. I would kindly like reimbursed for my damaged items.

It is my understanding that the management company for the property, Tusk Development, contracted a company to perform work for their property. As a property management company, it is their responsibility to oversee the work performed by their contractors. I believe my complaint is with Tusk directly. They may choose to address their contractors errors with their contractor, but ultimately they are responsible for the management of the property. They sent their manager in response to my original complaint- if it was the responsibility of the company they hired- they would have reached out to them to remediate the matter. They would not disclose who the contractor was and they were not present at the time of the incident,

      Thank you,

After the frist call was placed, we immediately has a discussion with the vendor who was in control of the site and performing the work. They specifically remembered the "incident" and explained that the lot was partially closed and "coned" off with large orange cones. They witnessed the complainant drive around the cones, park in the closed area and walk through the work area. Even with this situation they offered to discuss the situation with her, and invited her to call them, so they could address her damage.

Upon receipt of the second call, I explained to her that the contractor was made aware of her complaint, and provided the contractor's contact information for her direct followup.

At which time she became annoyed and said, that this "was not good enough", and she didn't want to "waste any more time calling other people." I explained, politely, that this is all I could offer her as the work was contracted to the vendor and its was their insurance and responsibility for any issues caused while the work was being performed. She then became loud and started to explain to me what she thinks my job and role "should be." I then politely explained that I was trying my best to help her resolve the situation, but I had nothing else I could offer. I suggested again that she could either follow up with the vendor who invited her to contact them, or alternately she could try suing everybody. At which point she became loud and unhappy and started ranting, which is when I hung up.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

At no point did Tusk Management provide information or documentation on who the provider of services is, that they accepted accountability, or that were willing to discuss the matter. No one ever reached out to me regarding this matter. Their statments are blatantly untrue. I did reach out to Tusk on multiple occassions and was met with unprofessionalism and being hung up on. To say I was loud or spoke in an unacceptable was is another lie. As you can see by our exchanges, they are unresponsive and nasty in their responses when they do choose to respond. There wwere absolutely no orange cones, the contractor was not present at my time of drop off, and the workers agreed that the area should not have been opened up to traffic as I noted that my shoes were sticking to the tar as I walked towards the building. Their entire comment is blasphemy and a diversion tactic for accountability. Who would have thought that donating significant items for goodness would turn into such an awful experience.
