      I hired this company to fix my chimney that was leaking into my sons room. I told the company I needed the chimney taken down to the roof and sealed and roofed over. It had been patched but underneath the flashing was completely rusted through and rotten.The man I spoke to told me that they would need to instead, take the chimney to roof level and build it back up and that it could be capped. I asked if that would fix this issue, no more leaking, he assured me yes. Hes the professional, why would I not trust him?I paid 300 for the estimate, then ***** for the rest. After the job was completed he sent me photos and it was obvious the flashing (the entire problem) wasnt touched. I asked why it wasnt fixed and he told me it wasnt in the contract. He was correct that in the contract it doesnt blatantly say to fix the flashing(which seems intentionally scammy) but it states they were to check the flashing, which they didnt do. If they would have checked it they would have seen how rotten it is and they were doing cosmetic work to a much bigger problem. His only solution was charging me more money to do the flashing. After spending almost 4k. I told him he went against the contract by not checking the flashing and he stopped replying to my messages.He was supposed to come clean up the chimney because it looked so bad- but instead his guys came early today, packed up their stuff and left. Never sent any follow up pictures to show what it currently looks like. This company scammed me out of ***** dollars. Now my next step is to file in small claims court and contacting the state contractors licensing board.

      Here are some screenshots of the conversation we had. Prior to this we spoke over the phone so I dont have proof of those conversations. 

      Im also attaching the pictures he sent yesterday. I never received pictures after they cleaned up the chimney today. But based on how quickly they packed up and left this morning Im assuming they didnt clean it.
