Billed unexpectedly without any notice $70.24 for picking up another campers (5) paper plates that blew into multiple camping sites including mine. I tossed them into the fire pit as we were packing up thinking that the left over embers would burn them up. They accused me of leaving trash on my site for which the wife and I refute feeling they are out right liars and unless they charged the 10 other sites that had plates on them I feel this was a way of making money for the campsite. They are unwilling to make any credit or reduce the fee being unreasonable to deal with. As you can see from the camping photo my site was neat and clean. I call the accusations garbage, literally!

We are aware of Mr. *********'s view of the matter. I personally spoke with him on the phone on 6/12/24 and explained why he was charge. I have attached for you a copy of our rules/policies that Mr. ********* agreed to by signing in at the office each day that he rode at our park, as well as attached a screenshot of the box that Mr. ********* would have had to check and agree to when making a reservation online for our campground explaining he would be charged up to $75 for any trash left behind that staff has to clean up. Also attached is a photo taken on 6/9/24 (the day Mr. ********* checked out of our facility) showing the trash he left behind in the fire ring unburnt. Please also see the attached google review from Mr. *********'s as well as our response. When I spoke with Mr. ********* on the phone on 6/12/24 he verbally threatened property destruction of our park, to which I informed him he is now no longer welcome to our atv park due to his threats, which he then referenced in his google review. Also I would like to note the reason for the delay in contacting Mr. ********* was due to medical illness, I was out sick and in the hospital between when he called and when I returned his call. If needed I can supply proof of that as well.

We take great pride our park and want to keep it as nice as possible for our guests, which is why we take littering so seriously. Our clean up charge is in place to make sure that all of our guest respect the park and the work that goes into maintaining. it. I hope I have provided you with sufficient evidence of our policies as well as that we make sure our customers are well aware of those policies when coming to the park.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I viewed the photo in the fire ring and the red bag was not placed there by me.   I will admit and I already stated that I place someone else’s trash that blew from the nights storm which was about 3-5 paper plates.  I want a partial refund as $75 is way too steep for a few paper plates that are not even mine.  Also the red bag could have been placed there by anyone and isn’t even mine.  So I thing their business practices are extensive unethical and if they can not take the assistance of me cleaning up trash they are a bunch of  unrealistic managers!

Please review again the reservation check box image, a screenshot from our reservation system showing where you have to check and agree to being subject to the $75 dollar cleanup charge if you leave any trash behind. You state that you admit to leaving trash behind whether you say it was your trash or not you are admitting to leaving it there purposefully. We are sticking to our policies, which you agreed to upon making your reservation. The whole point of our policy is to make sure trash is properly disposed of which in this case it was not.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is not satisfactory to me as they are not completely innocent here.  I would like to know how many others got charged in that area or had extra trash tossed into the fire ring that wasn’t theirs.  Sure I signed the documents but $75 is excessive and I’ll be sure not to donate any money by staying there in the future nor will any of our fellow Riders.  We keep the trails clean and they make it look like we littered on purpose.
Although written in stone the money was excessive and no sense dealing with stupid people who can’t do any math and reduce the fee for an obvious money making scheme called FRAUDULENT CHARGES!  I’ll make sure it’s a credit card next time so charges will be easier to dispute.

    Regards,
