I paid Crown Service Group to fix my house after a pipe burst. They replaced the ceilings neglecting to include insulation. They would consistently claim to come and fix the issue, and then reschedule. ******* the contractor threatened to harm me when I challenged him on his actions.

We hired Crown Service Group to install handrails in our property. We signed the service agreement on 10/26/2022, and planned to complete by 11/09. We paid the deposit of $1105 (65% of total) on 10/27. On 11/03, my husband tested positive for COVID-19, and we had to postpone the date of work following CDC's guidelines. After communicating with them, we decided on a new date of 11/21, before we will move to another state, and they promised to complete by Thanksgiving. On 11/21, however, the technician ****** did not show up and did not answer our phone calls. Finally, ****** told us they will come on the second day. Over the next few days, they kept telling us they were delayed due to problems with the materials they bought, but still promised to finish the job soon. On 11/29, ****** said he will come to finish the job and he only needed 15min, and we had him call our real estate agent to get him access. He got into a fight with my agent and insulted her with nasty slurs. He also called me asking for her office address because he will "punch her in the f*** face". Afterwards he apologized for his behavior, and still promised to do the job. On 12/1 he went to my property (the tenant was there), and demanded I pay up the rest before they start working. We refused and stated we will pay once they finish the work to our satisfaction, so he left without doing any work. We called their manager ******, who said their internal rules say client have to pay up before the work starts if the client is not physically at the property. We refused because it was never mentioned verbally or on the agreement, and we would have been there if they had not delayed so many times, and we could not trust them anymore to finish the job to our satisfaction if we paid upfront. She promised to call back with a resolution but never did. We called several times, leaving voice messages, but never heard back again.

On 10/14/22 I reached out to Crown Service to have a leaking pipe inspected. I paid a $120 visit fee for the tech to come out and inspect water coming down a pipe under the sink and running into the basement. The plumber said he had fixed the leak by shifting a pipe back in to place. I was doubtful that was the problem, but he said the $120 visit fee provided for free repeat service if the same issue continued. Sure enough, the pipe kept leaking and I exchanged multiple text messages, phone calls and emails with Crown Service, trying desperately to have them come back and fix the issue. Meanwhile water continued leaking into the house. On December 2 I gave up and started working with another plumber. I can no longer get in touch with crown service group at *************) and the Plumber *******  ************* only picks up my calls if I call from an unknown number. I have been trying to get a refund for a while, and feel I am out of options.

My husband contacted a handyman service and we received a response from *******, who said he was from Crown Services. ******* quoted us a price of $900. to remove and replace ceiling tiles in an area around 300 sq ft. in our basement. I texted him a link for the tiles we selected. He and his partner came on 11/6 and the partner spent roughly 1/2 hour removing tiles. ******* did nothing, They were to return the following day to install the new tiles. I paid him $585, 65% of total price. ******* called in sick the next day. I reached out to him 11/10 to see when he might be returning, he said he would return the following day. He was due between 12 & 2, showed up at 430 with wrong tiles. He stayed in the truck but his partner spoke to him, and I was told they made a mistake and would be right back with the tiles I selected. They never returned. Texted ******* and called Crown Services, no one responded. I wrote a complaint and ******* texted me a profane and threatening message claiming he owed me nothing, and clearly would not be returning. I offered to let him keep $300. for the 30 minutes of work his partner did but I received nothing but a rude and incoherent text. So I have a mess in the basement, exposed rafters, no new tiles and Im out $585.

I reached out to a company called J&X Handyman services to find a good handyman to do some things around our house on a consistent basis. The first project was installing an interior door. A man named ******* came to our house on 10/11/2022 and gave an amount of $778.00. He left for a little while, then called and said his office told him to get a check for the service now to complete the project we asked if we could use a card and he said that his office wants a check. We wrote the check with the expected install on 10/12/2022. The company called on 10/12 and stated that the door would be installed on 10/13, which we understood and said ok. On 10/14 the door was again stating that the door installment would be delayed until Friday 10/14, which again we understood and said okay. Come Friday, 10/14, it was 4:00PM and there was no information so we cancelled the request and told them we would be stopping the check in a voicemail because they NEVER answer the phone. It was then we saw a text message from ******* stating that he was coming in the evening. We called and let him know that we cancelled because of the lack of communication and feeling uneasy about how things were going. ******* then proceeded to yell at us stating that this was "our problem". We did not respond in kind simply stated to not come to the house and hung up to avoid the confrontation. Then we called the bank to find out they cashed the check the same exact day we wrote it. I then reached out to them on 10/17 and left a voicemail because no one ever answers. Since then I have been told several times they have talk to their boss about resolving. it is now 10/20 I have yet to have resolution and have called every day. Will be filing a suit if no response by 10/21 EOB. All we want is a refund and to move on.

The company we paid is displayed on the carbon copy of the check, we did not receive a contract to sign, they simply asked for a check.  The check was written by my partner *****************************, who is the veteran.  The company we wrote the check to is Crown Service Group, ltd, but they were operating under the name J&X Handyman Services.  I was told the “chief of staff” is *******, who is the handyman who came to our house and who took the check from us.  Please let me know if you require any further information.  Thank you.

Crown Service group doing business as Berwyn Handyman and Painter took a down payment of $1750 to perform a Kitchen demolition, backsplash, and Bathroom tilework. It was revealed that the contractor is not qualified to do the job. No work was done and the company is not committing to a refund. Sequence of Events:06/19/2022: I asked for estimate after confirming that their contractors were licensed individually.06/20/2022: Contractor said the drywalls must be demolished and replaced with cement board prior to Cabinet installation. This meant the work had to be done ASAP as **** installation is on 06/22/2022.The plan: On 06/21/2022, Contractor would complete installing the cement board and begin the bathroom work, once that is complete, he would install the kitchen backsplash. We agreed to $3500 as cost of labor and 50% deposit to hold the date. Later, I called Contractor to ask about materials. He told me to get 5 Gallons of glue for setting Tiles. He refused to use mortar and insisted on a glue he texted me picture of.06/21/2022. The office manager assured me Mortar will be used.Contractor came at 11 and told me he is not going to do the drywall as he decided it is not necessary. He will get started with the bathroom by first going to ********* for the materials. I told him I purchased everything. He looked at the 50LB bag of mortar and told me to get 3 more bags of it. The bathroom is 55sq. ft. I told him to begin the work and I will get more if needed. He said he will come back after the cabinets are installed and left. I asked office if Contractor has ever had experience laying tiles. It was revealed that he does not. I asked for refund.06/22/2022 I called office for the refund. I was told, the contractor is part owner of the company and has not authorized the refund. Office refused to disclose contractor's last name.Attached are Text messages with contractor, emails with office and the Service agreement(Signed only by the company)
