Got a vehicle in September 2024, I merely notified them. My car engine light was on. They put it diagnostic again took the light off said it comes home back in that they would fix . The light came back on. I reached out to **** and she said ****** would call me back to have it fixed. Fast forward four months later light is still on notified them and I am mature. I asked before the 30 days were over and they never got backto me. So now that her days are over and they want me to pay for diagnostic and to have the car fixed, even though the engine light has been on all of these months and I was told they would fix. I either want a car fixed a replacement. Its their neglect that they never fixed it. Why is that my issue when I notified them within the ******************************************************************************************************* after they said ****** contact me. all sudden apparently Tuesday Im supposed to go see an ****** for 11 AM. I told him that the light has been on all these and he said because its over the 30 days I need to pay for the diagnostics and whatever needs to be fixed. I feel like they did this on purpose so I would have to pay for it even though I did confront them soon as I drovethe car off the lot when the first light came on, they knocked it off and it came back on again and that was not even full week. I had the vehicle yet.Business Response

The customer called February 3, 2025 and we got her in the next day to look at her vehicle. We diagnosed check engine light. It had a misfire code. We replaced an ignition coil under warranty and the customer only paid a $100.00 deductible. If she would of brought the vehicle in sooner, she still would of had to pay the deductible. My question is, why would you wait 4 months for someone to call you if you have a problem with your vehicle? We do our best to take care of our customers. We were unaware that she had a problem prior to receiving this complaint.Initial Complaint

Me and my spouse purchased a used vehicle from them and also where persuaded to purchase the 4,000.00 warranty which would offer a stress free vehicle ownership it covered everything except regular wear and rare like tires oil change and brakes it covered absolutely everything else and after careful thought me and my spouse where convinced that the warranty was a must I mean it had 139,000 miles on it already and chances are if something does break on it that to repair it would already be close to the cost of the warranty. So we buy it and then after three months it won’t start it’s in my driveway and won’t start so I thought take advantage of the warranty and I did they towed it to there shop and I don’t hear from them for about 4-5 days about the vehicle and I think they said originally they knew what it was and they where fixing it to be aware to come get it when it’s done and after another week and no news I think what’s going on so I call them and they say they have bad news that the car needs a new engine and the warranty company is saying do I have proof of maintenance being kept like oil change mileage? I didn’t have the sticker because I change my cars oil myself all I could get was receipts from the auto store I purchased the filter and oil from although maybe a long shot considering it had been at least 2 months almost since I purchased the oil and filter I said give me a few days I think it was 5 days I said they said ok then called me back 3 days later and said they where sorry to inform me but the warranty company denied my claim I would have to pay out of pocket to fix my car which is 895.00$for the new engine and 1,500.00$ In labor and installation cost so another almost 3,000.00$ to get my car back that we only owned for 3 months and the warranty was a complete loss. Now they still have my vehicle and it has been there for almost four months now they have had it longer then I have and they just called me last Friday.Business Response

Good day,
On March 8th 2022 ******* purchased a ***** * with138,285 miles from us along with an extended warranty. Five months after the purchase on 08/09/2022 his vehicle was towed to us (which we paid for as a courtesy) with 148,771 miles on it (10,486 more miles) a no start problem was the reason for it coming in. Upon inspection we found a completely dead battery caused by a failed alternator. At this point we made the assumption the warranty company would cover the repair so we went forward in good faith to repair the issues. Once we had the car running we could hear there were issues with the engine due to the noise coming from the engine block. We checked the oil dip stick and found the fluid to be dark black with a burnt smell and completely overfull.(as a side note we performed an oil change on 02/03/2022) The warranty company was contacted in regards to the repair and authorized investigating the issue by removing the oil pan. When the oil pan was removed we found the number one rod was spun and 2 and 4 rod bearing caps have scored which is caused by lack of proper lubrication. The warranty company asked for proof of the last required maintenance which would have been at least 5000 miles ago, when we asked the customer if/where it was done **** stated that he did the oil change himself, but could not provide any proof. We were asked if we could "manufacture " a receipt for an oil change which we declined to do. The Warranty company denied the claim due to "failure to follow maintenance". We cannot find any way around the fact that the vehicle was driven without proper maintenance. We offered to do the repairs at a discounted rate of labor and the parts at our cost as a way to assist in this matter. To be clear in addition to the engine issue, the vehicles undercarriage also is filled with mud and corn stalks and shows signs of abuse. Neither Ameys Garage nor the warranty company can bear any responsibility in this matter.
At the current moment the vehicle is still here on our lot and we would like to either move forward or have it removed.

Good Morning, In regards to ******************* complaint on his **** *******, I admit he has had to come back a few times for a few issues. One time was for work promised at the time of sale (left front door hinge alignment, spare tire and repair a tire sensor) A check engine light came on for an evaporation leak code and we replaced the leak detection pump for him. since then we have been systematically running a leak detection/smog test for an intermittent "small evap leak" code. This vehicle can be driven without fear of failure as the engine light is more of a"be aware" than a "beware". We were under the impression that ***************** had understood all f this but sadly that doesn't appear to be the case. I will make sure my team explains everything to him again at his appointment Thursday the 8th.
******************* loan with ****** ***** credit union is in his name alone as his application is the only one we received, therefore only his signature is on the contracts and subsequently the title. We are not allowed to put an owner on a title if they do not appear on the loan. Communication appears to be the biggest issue here so I hope we can clear things up when we see him tomorrow (Sept 8th)

Good morning!
I have to apologize as I am only seeing the "second notices" from the BBB and not the initial compliant. So I apologize for the delay.
In regards to the matter of the alignment I agree with the customer, ** should have called the customer to explain that this was going to take longer than the initial estimate. ** was very busy that day and never got around to it which is understandable but also not acceptable. So If the customer could please stop in I would be more than happy to issue a refund for the additional charges over and above the initial estimate.
Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention.

Wednesday August 3 2022 We purchased the vehicle reluctantly after a lot of trouble trying to figure out what to do and not feeling comfortable with them pushing papers in front of us not letting us go over it especially because they were trying to close for the day and wanted to get rid of us by two hours of leaving that car lot the oil pressure in the engine was suddenly dropping in the engine was seizing up lug nuts were coming off the rims of the tires first day was two then three then four missing and we had a couple mechanic friends locally take a look with my husband and there was almost no break fluid at all so it's no wonder it wasn't holding as we live on a steep hill and have to use the emergency brake almost no power steering fluid and there is metal shavings in the oil and the oil is turning black and was quickly that day I am disabled our child is disabled my husband is our caregiver and works a full-time job this is absolutely unacceptable they sent us off that lot knowing all of this our situation and the vehicle situation in a death trap they also refused to give me the dealer license number and other information upon request and stated that it was because of a mishap with a bounced check from a family member who is the executor of several people and very confused at this time and has multiple accounts and made a mistake as their reason for sending us off the lot with this death trap after the fact when we got a hold of them the next morning. We have attempted to contact the Attorney General and find out their business license number dealer number with two no avail we need help in the Better Business Bureau is the only place we have to turn toBusiness Response

This is an ongoing issue with this customer that starts with a bounced fraudulent check on another vehicle that they attempted to purchase. At that point I should have walked away but proceeded to try and help them. I had only one bank and vehicle on our lot that would fit their credit profile and the vehicle unfortunately wound up having an engine issue. Instead of trying to find and repair in internal engine noise we decided to put a used engine in with a 2 year warranty. This engine allegedly has a manifold leak which we have not yet to confirm. The customer just called me and screamed on the phone all manner of "**** You's" and the vehicle doesn't have a gas cap? A 2013 **** **** does not have a gas cap, it is a capless system. He is on his way, I am going to take the vehicle back and pay off his loan and move on from this. We can consider this matter closed then, Thank you. I am sorry for the delayed response as this one kept developing.
