    we signed a contract with ***** Sechrist on Sept. 19, 2022 for the construction of a new 1 story 1869sq ft. ranch home, issued him a check in the amount of 88,500.00. The house was to be ready to move in May 31, 2023. The build never started until the April 2023. Two separate code inspectors have issued several code deficiencies. The contract stated 8" ****** walls and Sechrist used 6" *** blocks. The last deficiency reported was the foundation being out of square, the code inspector put a stop work order on the project and written notice to Sechrist he needed to hire a structural engineer to assess and come up with a solution to correct. The structural engineer was on the building site July 14, 2023 and to this day the code inspector has not been contacted concerning the faulty foundation. We have had to retain a lawyer due to Sechrist not responding. We would appreciate any help from anyone concerning this problem. We are an elderly retired couple forced to continue living in a cabin, paying storage fees for our belongings and now having to retain a lawyer. Please help us.

    I just need to clarify the 88,500.00 was for the first drawl of money due at the signing of the contract which was a total of 

    295,000.00. The structural engineer that Sechrist retained due to foundation issues has never to this day contacted the code inspector with his plans for a remedy. Sechrist basically walked off the job June 14, 2023 with no communication / contact with us, giving us no other choice than to contact a lawyer. Unfortunately, Sechrist has not stepped forward to honor the signed contract and continues to hold the first drawl of money. If needed I can send the deficiency reports and photos of the project. We are asking for any official help we can possibly find to resolve this. As senior citizens we feel we have been scammed. We are desperately seeking help and advice in this matter.
