  WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! After spending more than 12k on a spiral stair we are extremely disappointed with the very poor customer service. First the stair arrived without notification. All the delivery instructions stated that products NEEDED a delivery date confirmation.
  That’s not the worst of it.
  The instructions and diagrams clearly indicate pre-drilled holes in steel to allow for wood tread install. Our platform did not have any. The customer service first said that they do not do it. Total Lie! No where does the “required tool and material” list indicate needing a drill, bit including sizes or where to drill holes. After a second conversation with Salter they said they used to drills holes but not anymore and that we must have gotten an old set if instructions. They have left us hanging with no response. If you but from Salter be prepared for frustration and disappointment.

  We spent more than 12k on the spiral stair. The customer service of this company is out right BAD!
  We had issues with pre-drilled holes to attach wood treads and platform. Some were drilled and some were not. The instructions clearly state to attach treads and platform via the “pre-drilled holes” as pictured on the instruction sheet.
  When we brought this to Salter’s attention they insisted we were wrong and we would be responsible for the drilling. We again followed up and referenced the detailed instructions that accompanied the stair. The Instructions ONLY reference pre-drilled holes. The parts and tools list mention NOTHING about drilling, bit sizes, or drill required. Now Salter’s excuse is that they gave us old instructions and that they do not pre-drill the steel platform but do all other necessary areas.
  They clearly sold us this and could care less about the quality of their products

  The company advertise customize jobs for spiral stair cases, don't believe it; they cannot deliver customize spindles. I purchased stairs case kit from Salter over 25-30 years ago and the stair are not compliant because there is no in between spindles. Emailing customer service reply is your steps are old the company have re-engineered their stairs and we cannot sell you parts. Just simple in-between spindle/balusters to make the stairs compliant to code. My stair case is exactly as pictured on their current website. But they did not even try to accomodate my request even for wood spindles! I was not transferred to technician or carpenter who has the experience needed to address my problem with their stairs. Customer service just ask a customer service manger. Reply no we can't help you. Customer service can make a business go out of business.

  Stay away from this company. Terrible service and product. They do not stand behind the product and I could go on. All the other negative reviews are true and we had the same issues. I so regret doing business with them.

  terrible company. Lier’s. fist salesman (Brian Albany) lied. said stairs couldn’t be deliverd down a narrow road infront of my cabin. I even have the email. When the delivery company refused and said would leave on side of road, I called the company. Sent emails. Eventually they said they would refund me. (Got email). Two months later when I asked several times where is my refund. I was told the Are reducing refund $600 for restocking fee/shipping. Outrageous Lier’s! From sales to top serves or I spoke to. Beware!!!
