    In Nov 2019, Ziccardi installed a premium standing seam metal roof on our house. After the installation, we noticed infrequent leaks through the kitchen ceiling vent. We presumed these leaks were from an unusal wind direction and we'd have Ziccardi look at the problem when they returned to do additional work. Ziccardi hasn't done any additional projects on our house. The leaks through the kitchen vent stopped and we didn't think anything more of them.

    In July 2023, we noticed leaks coming through the ceiling of the sunroom adjacent to the kitchen.

    On July 3, we called Ziccardi and left a message.

    On July 5, we stopped at the Ziccardi office looking for a responce. We spoke with the owner who assigned a senior associate to investigate.

    On July 6, the associate stopped to inspect the problem. He determined the most likely cause was water getting forced under the roof at the valley where the sun room gable meets the main house roof. He cleared some minor debris from the valley. He told us that the kitchen is only vented into the attic. This means the roof has been leaking since the original installation. He took pictures and said he needed to discuss the problem with the owner.

    On July 27, we called the associate to let him know the roof was still leaking. Clearing the debris changed the leak from the sun room to the kitchen, but now the leak has broken through the ceiling, not just the vent. We asked about the status of our request to fix the roof. The associate seemed surprised the owner hadn't contacted us. We also provided private YouTube videos of the roof during a heavy rain storm and a video of the kitchen leaking.

    On Aug 4, we again requested a response via Text, but heard nothing.

    We believe the roof was not installed correctly from the start. We only recently discovered the roof has been leaking all along. We'd like the roof and the water damages fixed.

    Ziccardi Builders believes the leaking in the valley was do to alot of debris build up in valley which results in water damming,we did send out a rep of Ziccardi Builders to inspect and remove debris,our rep was told roof had been leaking for quite some time however we have no record of ever being informed of this.This roof was installed several years ago by a Sub Contractor who is no longer in business,however we will reach out to customer and see what remedy we can come up with

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20436050, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.



    Ziccardi has promised to contact us for over 1-month.  We provided video evidence the roof was leaking with no debris present.  We will not close this complaint until we've been able to negotiate a resolution.

    We had a Ziccardi representive on site 8/16/23 to look at and remedy problem,i belive this has occured,and to reiterate that this roof was put on several years ago and that our labor warranty was for one year from date of completion and that we did not hear of any issue until spring of 2023

    In reference to complaint ID ********* the business sent a subcontractor to identify the source of the leak that was present since the original installation.  Several tubes of sealant were applied to areas that were subject to leaking.  The snow guard was modified to allow debris to wash off the roof.  The attic was opened and a fan was used to dry the wet areas.  Some patching of the damage ceiling was done in the sunroom, but not the kitchen ceiling.  We are satisfied with the response to our complaint.
